Warm feet are extremely important for feeling comfortable. Everyone who has ever had cold feet in bed knows that it is very difficult to fall asleep. If your feet are warm, the rest of your body often is too! With warm feet, you are much better able to stand your ground. Our pure wool socks are warm and soft. Pure wool creates a warm, enveloping layer around your body, which means you lose much less heat and this heat is regulated. This saves loads of wasted energy. You will notice that you sleep better and are much less tired.

So if you are in doubt between 2 sizes, we recommend choosing the smaller size. Example: do you wear size 39/40? Then choose size 38/39. Do you wear size 40/42, then choose 40/41. Wool socks often become slightly looser when you wear them. It is annoying if wool socks bunch up because they are too loose. If in doubt, you can always contact us. The cuffs of the pure wool socks contain tiny elastic threads, so you don't have to worry about the socks sliding down. The elastic does not touch the skin. The socks are not tight: so if you suffer from "thick" ankles, you don't have to worry about the socks pinching.

You don't have to wash pure, 100% wool socks.

Wool has the fantastic property of being self-cleaning,
so hang them out for a night, and you can wear them again the next day! Do you want to know how this works exactly? We made a nice and informative vlog in which this is explained. You can find it here. Do you still want to wash them? Always do so on a wool wash cycle with a wool detergent that contains lanolin. Wool shrinks due to temperature differences, not heat. A wool wash cycle has the same temperature throughout, making the chance of shrinkage very small. Use a wool wash at a low temperature and the lowest possible spin speed.

Pure wool socks wear out!

Yours do too: there is absolutely nothing you can do about it... And it can happen faster than you think. The fact that pure wool socks wear out is because our socks, unlike 99% of all other "wool socks" sold, really contain no synthetic yarns. This makes the wool a lot more vulnerable to wear and tear. We therefore recommend alternating your socks regularly and purchasing multiple pairs. Always wear them in well-fitting shoes, in which you do not "slide". That significantly speeds up the wear process. For some it's after just a few days, and others can go through winters with them. Fortunately, wool socks are easy to darn; in our webshop you will find darning wool, darning needles, darning eggs, and wooden mushrooms. Check your socks after every wear to see if they have become thin. Typical spots are at the toes, under the ball of your foot, or at the heels. Do this in time, so the pure wool socks don't start to fray. We also wrote an extensive blog about this with tips and tricks to extend the lifespan of your socks: you can't really prevent it.
