All about this product

Classic Norwegian wool socks in dark blue and natural

Some color combinations never go out of style. These beautiful Norwegian socks from Hirsch Natur combine deep dark blue with natural. The large knitted pattern gives the socks that recognizable Scandinavian look that we love so much.

The socks are made in Germany from 100% certified organic virgin wool, with no synthetic fibers added. Pure wool is warm, breathable, and much less prone to odors. As a result, your feet stay wonderfully cozy without feeling clammy.

Model 030 is one of our classic Norwegian wool socks. It is a slightly sturdier and warmer model than our thin socks 156. Please keep in mind that these socks take up a little more room in your shoes. They are wonderful in roomier shoes, boots, and slippers, but of course also just great for around the house.

We have model 030 in various beautiful patterns and color combinations. The other versions are linked together on the product page, so you can easily choose your favorite.

Warm feet can make a world of difference

Anyone who has ever gone to bed with cold feet knows how difficult it can be to fall asleep comfortably. If your feet are warm, the rest of your body often feels much more comfortable as well.

We regularly hear from customers that our pure wool socks help them to relax more easily in the evening and fall asleep more comfortably. Some customers even say they feel more rested the next day because of it. That is, of course, a personal experience and not a promise, but it does show how much difference warm feet can make for your daily comfort.

The wool forms a soft, insulating layer around your feet. At the same time, the material remains breathable and helps to regulate heat and moisture. This way, your feet stay pleasantly warm without feeling clammy.

Which wool socks are right for you?

Are you hesitating between our thin and thick socks, solid-colored models, Norwegian socks, or hiking socks? In our complete wool sock buying guide, we clearly explain the differences. This makes it easier to find the right socks for your shoes, usage, and warmth needs.

Hirsch Natur wool socks run large

Hirsch Natur socks generally run large. Are you between two sizes? Then choose the smaller size.

For example, if you wear shoe size 39/40, we recommend size 38/39. If you wear size 40/42, choose size 40/41. Wool can also stretch a bit while wearing. Socks that are too large can bunch up or fold over, which is less comfortable to wear and can cause extra friction.

In the top centimeters of the cuff, there are tiny elastic threads that help prevent the socks from sliding down. These elastics are on the outside of the knit and do not touch the skin. The cuff is not overly tight, making these socks also comfortable if you are prone to getting marks around your ankles.

Are you in doubt about the right size or the best model? Please feel free to contact us. We know the socks well and are happy to help you choose.

You need to wash wool socks much less often

Wool has natural self-cleaning and odor-resistant properties. As a result, you usually need to wash these socks much less often than cotton or synthetic socks. Hang them out to air overnight after wearing, and you can often put them right back on the next day.

Do you want to know exactly how that works? Take a look at our explanation on airing and washing wool.

Do your socks need to be washed after all? Use the wool cycle of your washing machine and a suitable wool detergent. We recommend Lanalicious wool detergent with lanolin. This cleans the wool gently and helps maintain its natural properties.

Wash at a low temperature, spin at the lowest possible speed, and do not use fabric softener. Wool can felt or shrink due to a combination of moisture, movement, and temperature fluctuations. Let the socks dry naturally in the air and do not put them in the dryer.

Do not wear pure wool socks without shoes or slippers

It is tempting to walk around the house in these warm socks, but always wear them inside well-fitting slippers. If you wear 100% wool socks directly on the floor, a lot of friction is created, and they may wear out faster. Wool socks can also be slippery on a smooth floor, so be careful on stairs.

A good fit is also important in shoes. In shoes that are too loose, your foot will slide, while shoes that are too tight cause extra pressure and friction. Both can shorten the lifespan of your socks.

Pure wool socks can wear out

We like to be honest about this: socks made of 100% wool may wear out faster than socks to which synthetic yarns have been added. That is part of choosing a completely natural product. In return, pure wool breathes wonderfully, regulates heat, and is very comfortable to wear.

How quickly socks wear out varies greatly from person to person. The fit of your shoes, the way you walk, friction, and how often you wear the same pair all play a role. Therefore, rotate different pairs regularly.

Check the toes, heels, and the ball of your foot especially. Do you see the wool starting to thin out in a certain spot? Reinforce this spot with darning wool. That is easier than waiting for a large hole to appear and prevents the knit from unraveling further.

Do you want to see how to do that? Watch our video: how to darn a hole in a wool sock.

Also, read our extensive article: Help, I have a hole in my wool sock.

Everything you need to repair your socks can be found with our darning wool and repair accessories.

Please note: we cannot provide a warranty for holes caused by normal wear and tear.

Wol is fantastisch

And just like that, you were gone!

Was koud of lauw
