JOY-BRINGER WANTED ✨

Sales Assistant | Tuesday, Wednesday & Saturday | approx. 22 hours

We are looking for a joy-bringer for our shop.

Are you not afraid to tell our sustainable story, provide honest advice, and give our customers a little confetti moment?

And can you do all that on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday?

Then we might be looking for you.

What will you be doing with us?

You will work as a sales assistant in our shop on the Zwaanshals in Rotterdam.

That, of course, means helping many customers. But with us, that’s a bit different than just asking: “Can I help you with anything?”

We want people to feel seen. That you think along with them, are honest, grab an extra size from the rack, style a sweater just a little bit differently, and sometimes even just say: “No way, this really does nothing for you.”

Our goal?

That someone walks out with the feeling:

“I have never been helped so well.”

With a large bag full of beautiful things, of course. ;)

Besides making customers happy:

• you collect and pack web orders;
• you help unpack new deliveries;
• you ensure the shop looks great;
• you restock where necessary;
• and you basically just do whatever needs to be done at that moment.

Because we are a small shop. So, we don’t really do “that’s not part of my job description” here.

Who are we looking for?

A load of experience in retail is naturally a bonus.

But don’t have it? That’s fine too.

We are here to welcome you into our warm fold and teach you everything about wool, wool/silk, sustainable clothing, fits, our brands, and why we can get so enthusiastic about a good kidney warmer.

What we find much more important:

You are proactive, have a healthy dose of humor, see for yourself where help is needed, and genuinely enjoy working with people.

You aren’t afraid to approach someone.
You aren’t afraid to give your opinion.
You can work independently.
You don’t need to be told what to do all day long.
And a little chaos on a busy Saturday doesn’t immediately cause a short circuit.

Oh yes, and you don’t shy away from a team full of neurodivergent colleagues. In fact, we can only appreciate a bit of quirkiness now and then.

And what do you get from us?

A job should, of course, work both ways.

So yes, we expect something from you. But you can really expect something from us, too.

For starters: you earn more with us than at an average clothing store. We believe that if you do good work, it should be met with a decent salary.

Besides that, we understand one concept very well:

Life first. Work second.

Does your child have swimming lessons? Do you have an important appointment? Has life suddenly gone completely differently than planned? Then we will look at how to solve that together.

Of course, we need each other and we can’t all take time off at the same time on a busy Saturday. But you don’t have to come here with a stomachache to say that something is going on at home.

We want Natur-el to be a nice and safe place to work. A place where you can be yourself, where you are allowed to say something if you are bothered by something, and where every voice counts. It doesn’t matter if you have worked here for years or three weeks: if you have a good idea, we want to hear it.

And furthermore:

And the latter is seriously a condition of employment in itself.

Jana thinks up the nicest things for birthdays and other moments where there is something to celebrate. So the chance of you being fobbed off with an envelope containing a gift card here is quite small.

We work hard, but there is also a lot of laughter. And we think it is important that at the end of the day you don’t just think: I’ve worked, but also: this was actually just a nice day.

We are Natur-el.

For over 20 years, we have been selling sustainable clothing in Rotterdam from brands we personally stand behind.

No fast trends or a completely new shop every three weeks. But rather beautiful clothing made from natural materials, brands with a good story, and a whole lot of wool.

Really. A whole. Lot. Of. Wool.

We have, among other things, a huge collection of wool underwear, wool socks, and sustainable women's and men's clothing.

But what we are perhaps most proud of is how personal our shop is.

We know many customers by name, say what we really think, and want people to simply be able to be themselves here.

That also applies to whoever works here, by the way.

Practicalities

Role: Sales assistant
Hours: approx. 22 hours per week
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday
Where: Natur-el, Zwaanshals in Rotterdam
Start: around October 15th, a little later is fine too.  

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday are fixed working days, so it is important that you are available for all three.
