Norwegian wool socks: thin, thick and full of colour
A classic Norwegian pattern, but in colours that truly make you happy. In this collection, you will find both thin and thick Norwegian wool socks from Hirsch Natur. The thinner styles fit more easily into regular shoes; the thicker models provide extra warmth and require a bit more room in your shoes or boots.
Most of this collection is made in Germany from certified organic virgin wool. At Natur-el, you will also find a few colourways that were designed exclusively for us. Please check the specific material composition for each product, as some models also contain linen, for example.
Which thickness suits your shoes?
If you are mainly looking for warm socks for everyday use, take a good look at how much room your shoes offer. A thick sock in a tight shoe can actually cause pressure and extra friction. For dress shoes or close-fitting footwear, our thin Norwegian socks are usually the best choice. If you are looking for more warmth for boots, roomier shoes or slippers, take a look at the thick Norwegian socks.
Hirsch Natur generally runs large
Are you hesitating between two sizes? With Hirsch Natur socks, it is usually best to choose the smaller size. Wool can stretch slightly while being worn. A well-fitting sock does not wrinkle and shifts less inside your shoe, which is more comfortable and helps to limit unnecessary friction.
Airing, washing and care
Wool absorbs odours much less easily than many other materials. Hang your socks out to air overnight after wearing them; you can often wear them again afterwards. Is washing necessary after all? Use the wool wash cycle, a low temperature and a low spin speed. With Lanalicious wool detergent with lanolin, you condition the wool during washing. Do not use fabric softener and do not put wool socks in the tumble dryer.
Honest information about wear and tear
Pure wool socks can wear out, especially when walking on the floor without slippers or when they slide around in your shoes. Regularly check the toes, heels and the ball of the foot.
