Red Glerups boots with leather sole
You could, of course, choose an inconspicuous pair of slippers. But why would you, when you could also feel a little happy every time you look down at your feet? These red Glerups are warm in every sense of the word. The color is cheerful and bold, while the natural wool felt and light brown leather sole keep the overall look beautifully understated.
The high boot model covers the ankle, providing more warmth than a low slipper. Wonderful for cold mornings, chilly floors, and those evenings when you solemnly promise yourself you'll get off the couch just one more time.

Red is definitely not just for Christmas
Red slippers are quickly pigeonholed as Christmas gifts. And sure, they do look particularly great under a Christmas tree. But this color is much too fun to wear for only a few weeks a year.
Red adds color to dark mornings and instantly turns a simple lounge outfit into something cheerful. Because of the mottled texture of the wool felt, the color also looks less bright and flat than synthetic slippers. You can still clearly see the beautiful natural wool fibers.
Because wool is a natural product, there may be slight differences in shade or texture between different pairs and shipments. That is part of the material and gives every pair of Glerups its own natural character.
Why choose the Glerups boot model?
The boot is the highest and warmest model in the classic Glerups collection. The wool felt extends to your ankle, keeping not just your toes and feet, but also your ankles nice and warm.
There is a notch on the side of the shaft. This makes it easier to pull the boot on and provides enough freedom of movement around your ankle while walking. The high model doesn't feel like a stiff shoe, but like a light wool slipper that fits beautifully around your foot.
New Glerups feel a bit firm at first. As you wear them, the wool felt becomes more supple and molds to the contours of your feet. This makes a broken-in pair feel increasingly personal.
Wool keeps you warm without trapping your feet
Glerups are made of 100% natural wool felt. Wool insulates, breathes, and can absorb moisture without feeling clammy. This helps to regulate the temperature around your feet.
The result is a slipper that is wonderfully warm but feels less stuffy than many synthetic slippers. That is why many people wear Glerups not just during the coldest winter days, but also in the spring and autumn.
You can wear them perfectly well with bare feet. This allows the wool to utilize its natural properties optimally. Do you prefer wearing socks or do you always have cold feet? With a pair of wool socks, you'll be prepared for just about any mini ice age.
What makes the leather sole so pleasant?
The light brown leather sole is supple and thin enough to bend easily with your foot. This makes this version feel light and natural when walking. The sole also makes very little noise on hard floors.
Leather is intended for dry indoor surfaces. It is more sensitive to moisture, dirt, and rough pavement than natural rubber. Therefore, do not use these red Glerups as regular outdoor shoes and try not to walk across a wet patio or through the garden in them.

A proper fit is more comfortable and prevents unnecessary friction
Glerups generally run true to your normal European shoe size. The wool felt should fit nicely around your foot, but your toes should have enough room. They should not press hard against the front of the slipper.
Are you a half size? Then round up. For example, if you wear a size 38.5, choose size 39. The larger size can also be more comfortable for wide feet or a high instep.
Don't take the slippers larger than necessary. When your foot slides back and forth with every step, it creates extra friction in the wool felt. That is not only less comfortable to walk in, but it can also accelerate wear. The felt becomes more supple and shapes itself around your feet, but it doesn't suddenly stretch out a full size.
Size chart Glerups adults
Stand with your heel against a wall and measure the distance from the wall to the tip of your longest toe. Always measure both feet and use the length of your largest foot. Will you be wearing your Glerups standardly with socks? Then wear those while measuring.

Important: at Natur-el, we primarily stock sizes 37 through 45. Do you need a different size? Then please contact us before ordering. We can often special-order other sizes for you. Special-ordered sizes cannot be exchanged or returned.
A foot is, of course, more than just a length. The width and height of your instep also determine how a Glerup fits. Are you doubting between two sizes or are you not sure which model suits you? Then read our complete Glerups selection guide.
Why do new Glerups get fuzzy?
During the first three to four weeks, loose wool fibers or small fuzz may appear on the outside. This is normal for new wool felt. As you wear them, excess fibers come to the surface.
You can carefully remove loose fuzz with your fingers. Only pull away what is already loose and do not pluck at fixed fibers. The fuzzing usually decreases on its own as the slippers are broken in.
Can wool Glerups wear out?
Yes. We like to be honest about that up front. Wool felt is strong, but it is and remains a natural material. Due to prolonged pressure and friction, thin spots or holes can occur over time.
How quickly this happens varies greatly. Some people use one pair for years, while with very intensive daily use, visible wear can sometimes occur within about six months. The fit, your way of walking, protruding toes or nails, and the surface you walk on all influence this.
Normal wear and tear is not a product defect and is not covered under warranty. Therefore, check the wool felt occasionally at the toes, heels, and sides. Do you see a thin spot forming? Have it repaired if possible before a larger hole develops.
The leather sole will also eventually show signs of use. Whether it can be repaired or replaced depends on the location and extent of the wear. If in doubt, feel free to contact us. We are happy to take a look with you.
How to keep red Glerups looking good longer
Wool has natural self-cleaning properties. Usually, you don't need to wash your Glerups at all. Let them air out regularly and give them a day off once in a while. That is often enough to keep the wool felt fresh.
Do you have a stain? Dab it carefully with a slightly damp cloth and a little bit of suitable wool detergent. Do not get the whole boot wet and let it dry slowly at room temperature. Never place Glerups on or directly next to a hot radiator.
You can carefully brush the leather sole with a suitable leather brush. Use as little water as possible on the leather.
Never put Glerups in a regular washing machine or dryer. Due to water, heat, and friction, the wool felt can shrink or deform, and the leather sole can be damaged. Want to know more about the natural properties of wool? Watch our video about wool.
