Glerups bootie Petrol with leather sole
Is Petrol blue or green? Yes. That is exactly what makes this color so beautiful. In one light, it looks like deep teal, in another a bit greener. A bit as if the sea, a dark pine tree, and your favorite blue sweater all decided to start a color together.
These high-top Glerups are made of 100% natural wool felt and feature a flexible leather sole. The shaft reaches up to the ankle, providing extra warmth. Petrol is distinct enough to be special, yet calm enough to go with absolutely everything.

Petrol: for those who can't decide but choose well
Can't choose between blue and green? Luckily, with Petrol, you don't have to. The color is positioned exactly between the two and changes slightly with the light. This makes it look lively without being bright.
The mottled wool felt shows different fibers and color nuances. This gives the Glerups a natural depth that you don't easily find in smooth, synthetic slippers. Petrol combines beautifully with grey, denim, brown, black, and natural tones, but let's be honest: at home, the dress code is always exceptionally relaxed.
Because wool is a natural product, the shade and structure may differ very slightly per pair or delivery. That is part of the material and makes every pair just a little bit unique.
A warm boot without the heavy feel
The high model encloses not only your foot but also your ankle. This is great if you suffer from cold feet, walk a lot on chilly floors, or find that low slippers just don't provide enough warmth for you.
The notch on the side makes it easier to pull the Glerups on and gives your ankle freedom of movement. As a result, the shaft stays comfortably around your ankle without feeling like a stiff winter boot.
New wool felt feels quite firm at first. As you wear them, it becomes more flexible and gradually molds to the shape of your foot. So, give your new Glerups some time to really become your own.
How wool keeps your feet at the right temperature
Glerups are made of 100% natural wool felt. Wool insulates while simultaneously allowing your feet to breathe. Furthermore, the material can absorb moisture without feeling immediately wet or clammy.
This makes Glerups pleasantly warm, yet generally less stuffy than slippers made of synthetic materials. You can wear them directly on your bare feet so that the wool can make optimal use of its natural temperature- and moisture-regulating properties.
Do you prefer wearing socks? That is certainly possible too. With a pair of wool socks, you turn these high Glerups into a serious defense against cold feet.
Why does this Glerups have a leather sole?
The leather sole makes the boot light, supple, and quiet. It moves easily with your foot and provides a natural walking sensation. The combination of thick wool felt and flexible leather is especially nice for use on dry indoor floors.
Leather is more sensitive to moisture, street dirt, and rough surfaces than natural rubber. Therefore, it is best not to walk with these Glerups on a wet balcony, through the garden, or daily to the trash container. The sole and wool felt will wear out faster that way.

Which Glerups Petrol size is right for you?
Glerups usually correspond to standard European shoe sizes. The wool felt should fit snugly on a new pair, but your toes should have enough room and should not press firmly against the front.
Do you wear a half size? Then choose the next full size up. For example, for size 41.5, go for size 42. Do you have wide feet or a high instep? A size larger can also be more comfortable.
Do keep in mind that the slippers should not be unnecessarily roomy. If your feet move back and forth a lot while walking, extra friction occurs. This is less comfortable and can cause the wool felt to wear out faster. The wool molds around your feet during use, but a boot that is too short will not suddenly stretch significantly in length.

Please note: at Natur-el, we primarily stock sizes 37 through 45. Do you need a different size? Then please contact us before ordering. We can often special-order other sizes for you. Since these are ordered exclusively upon request, specially ordered sizes cannot be exchanged or returned.
The size chart provides a good indication, but the width of your foot and the height of your instep also determine how a Glerup fits. Are you in doubt between two sizes or models? Then read our complete Glerups buying guide.
Does a new pair change while wearing?
Yes, a little. During the first weeks, the wool felt becomes more supple and starts to mold better to your feet. A broken-in pair can therefore feel roomier and softer than a brand-new pair in the same size.
Also, loose wool fibers or small pills may emerge in the beginning. This is normal with new wool felt. Only remove the pills that are already loose, and do not pull on fibers that are still attached. After about three to four weeks, this usually subsides by itself.
How to prevent unnecessary wear?
Wool felt is sturdy, but not indestructible. Through repeated pressure and friction, thinner areas or holes may eventually develop. How quickly that happens differs for every person.
Some people wear the same pair of Glerups for years. With very intensive daily use, visible wear can sometimes appear within about six months. The fit, your walking style, protruding toes or nails, and the surface all play a role.
Normal wear and tear is not a manufacturing defect and is not covered by the warranty. A well-fitting size prevents your foot from sliding unnecessarily through the slipper. Additionally, check the wool felt near your toes, heels, and sides from time to time. Do you see a thin spot? Then it is better to address it early than to wait until a larger hole appears.
The leather sole will also eventually show signs of wear with use. Whether it can be repaired or replaced depends on the location and severity of the wear. Feel free to contact us if you are in doubt; we are happy to take a look with you.
Keeping Petrol Glerups fresh without a washing machine
Wool has natural self-cleaning properties. In most cases, regular airing is sufficient. Give the slippers a day off occasionally and place them in a dry, well-ventilated spot.
Do you have a small stain? Dab it gently with a slightly damp cloth and, if necessary, a little bit of suitable wool detergent. Do not wet the entire bootie and let it dry slowly at room temperature. Never place Glerups on a heater.
You can carefully brush the leather sole with a suitable leather brush. Use as little water as possible so the leather does not become hard or spotty.
Never put Glerups in a regular washing machine or dryer. Due to heat, friction, and temperature differences, the wool felt can shrink or deform, and the leather sole can be damaged. Do you want to know why wool needs to be washed so rarely? Watch our video about the unique properties of wool.
