Brown Glerups boots with leather sole
If the thought of brown slippers immediately brings to mind a somewhat dreary pair of shoes next to grandpa’s armchair, we need to set that image straight right away. These brown Glerups are warm, rugged, and beautifully natural. Not a dull house shoe, but a wool boot you'll want to slip into the moment you get home.
The high-top model is made from 100% pure and natural wool felt. The warm brown color pairs beautifully with the supple leather sole and gives these Glerups a calm, timeless look. And because the boot reaches up to the ankle, you get just that little bit of extra warmth that cold feet love so much.

Why are Glerups so great for your feet?
Glerups are made from natural wool felt. Wool keeps your feet warm while allowing them to breathe at the same time. The material helps regulate your temperature and can absorb moisture without feeling clammy. This makes Glerups much less stifling than slippers made largely from synthetic materials.
You can wear them perfectly well with bare feet, which allows you to fully enjoy the natural properties of the wool. Do you prefer wearing socks? You can do that, too. With a pair of wool socks, you create about the coziest experience for your feet that you can imagine.
The high boot model fits around your ankle, providing more warmth than the low slip-on or shoe model. Great for cold floors, chilly mornings, and long evenings on the couch. The wool felt feels firm at first, but becomes more supple as you wear it and gradually conforms to your foot.
What is the advantage of a leather sole?
The leather sole is soft, flexible, and light. This makes it move easily with your foot and feels almost like you’re walking through the house on a thick layer of wool. The sole makes little noise and provides just enough protection against a cold or hard floor.
A leather sole is mainly intended for indoor use. Moisture, street dirt, and rough paving can damage the leather more quickly. So, don't walk outside with these Glerups when the ground is wet or dirty. Looking for a model that you can take to the mailbox, shed, or garden? Then take a look at our Glerups with a natural rubber sole.

The leather sole may wear out after prolonged use. Depending on how the sole has worn, it can sometimes be repaired or replaced. If in doubt, please contact us before you write off your beloved Glerups. We are happy to help you assess them.
Which Glerups size should I choose?
Glerups generally correspond quite well to standard European shoe sizes. They should fit snugly the first time you put them on, but your toes should have enough room. They should not press hard against the front.
Do you wear a half size? Glerups itself recommends rounding up. However, we also look closely at the width of your foot and the amount of space around your heel. A Glerups that is too loose can start to slide while walking. That is less comfortable and causes extra friction, which can make the wool felt wear out faster.
Do you have wide feet or a high instep? Then the larger size might be more comfortable. Just don't count on a pair that is too short to stretch out significantly in length. The wool felt becomes more supple and forms primarily around your foot, but your toes need sufficient space from the start.
Are you in doubt between two sizes or not yet sure whether a leather or rubber sole suits you better? Then read our complete Glerups selection guide. There, we explain the differences between all models and soles in detail.
Why do new Glerups shed?
New Glerups may shed some loose wool fibers or lint during the first three to four weeks. This is normal and is part of the natural finish of the wool felt. Simply remove the loose lint carefully with your fingers. Usually, this decreases on its own over time.
Because it is a natural material, the brown color may differ very slightly per shipment. We actually think that is beautiful. Not a completely uniform, mass-produced product, but wool where you can still see that it is a natural product.
Can the wool felt of Glerups wear out?
Yes. We like to be upfront about that. Natural wool felt is wonderfully warm and comfortable, but it is not indestructible. Due to pressure and friction, thin spots or holes may appear over time.
How quickly this happens varies greatly from person to person. One person wears the same pair for years, while with intensive daily use, visible wear can sometimes occur within about six months. This has to do with, among other things, your way of walking, the fit, your toes or nails, the floor surface, and how much you wear the slippers.
Normal wear and tear is therefore not automatically a manufacturing defect and is not covered by the warranty. A well-fitting size helps to limit sliding and unnecessary friction. Check your Glerups occasionally at the toes, heel, and sides. Do you see the wool felt getting thinner somewhere? Then it is better to act early than to wait until a large hole appears.
How do you clean Glerups with a leather sole?
Wool naturally has self-cleaning properties. Regular airing and giving the slippers a day of rest every now and then is usually enough to keep them fresh.
You can gently dab a small stain on the wool felt with a slightly damp cloth and a little suitable wool detergent. Do not soak the entire slipper and let it dry slowly in the air. You can carefully brush the leather sole with a suitable leather brush. Use as little water as possible on the leather.
Never put Glerups in a regular washing machine or dryer. Due to heat, friction, and temperature differences, the wool felt can shrink or deform, and the leather sole can be damaged. Want to know why wool requires so little washing? Watch our video about the unique properties of wool.
