This is one of those colors that makes you think: yes, I'll have that one. The Glerups Sand is natural, calm, and actually exactly how you imagine a classic wool slipper – only a whole lot nicer ;-). This high Glerups boot is made of 100% natural wool felt and features a supple leather sole. Wonderfully warm, light on your feet, and high enough to keep your ankles nice and warm too.

And don't be fooled: such a simple wool slipper is actually quite cleverly designed. Wool is warm without completely enclosing your feet, it can absorb moisture, and it breathes. That makes Glerups the kind of slipper you put on in the morning and don't think about for the rest of the day. Exactly as it should be.

What kind of slipper is the Glerups Sand?

The Glerups Sand with leather sole is the high boot model from the collection. The wool felt extends around your ankle, providing more warmth than a low slipper or slip-on.

Sand is a light, natural heathered color. Not stark white, not yellow-beige, but a soft sand color in which you can still clearly see the natural structure of the wool felt. Together with the leather sole, this is perhaps the purest Glerups version there is.

Why are Glerups made of wool so wonderfully warm?

We, of course, don't need any more convincing about wool. If there is one material that knows how to deal with cold feet, it is this one.

Air is trapped between the wool fibers, which helps to insulate. At the same time, wool can absorb moisture, and the material continues to breathe. This gives you that lovely warmth without the clammy, stifling feeling you get with some synthetic slippers.

And that is why Glerups are also so great worn barefoot. You really don't need to wear socks in them. Are your feet permanently like ice cubes? Then, of course, you are welcome to add a pair of wool socks.

Why choose Glerups with a leather sole?

This model features the classic leather sole. And it really feels different from the Glerups with a rubber sole. Leather is thin, supple, and flexible, which makes the slipper feel light and move beautifully with your foot.

We would especially recommend this version if you use your Glerups as true indoor house slippers. For stepping outside briefly or walking frequently on damp surfaces, a rubber sole is more practical.

Luckily, at Natur-el we have both. Glerups with leather soles, but also with rubber soles in Honey and Black. And in a whole lot of colors too. Yes, it got a bit out of hand.

Can I walk outside with Glerups with a leather sole?

Rather not. Of course, nothing will explode if you step out the front door once, but this leather sole is really intended for indoor use. Moisture, street dirt, and rough surfaces will cause the leather to get dirty and wear out faster.

Do you regularly need to go to the garden, shed, mailbox, or trash bin? Then it is better to choose the same type of Glerups with a rubber sole. That version is simply better suited for that.

What size Glerups should I take?

Glerups are fairly consistent with normal European shoe sizes. If you normally wear a size 39, then size 39 is a good starting point.

Do you have a half size? Then round up. For shoe size 40.5, for example, we would recommend Glerups size 41. If you have wide feet, a larger size may also be more comfortable.

Keep in mind that the wool felt will mold a little to your foot while wearing. That's part of it. Your Glerups will actually become a little more yours over time.

Which Glerups sizes does Natur-el carry?

We normally have our Glerups in stock from size 37 to 45. Are you looking for a size outside this range? Then we can possibly order it specially for you.

Please note: sizes outside our regular stock that we order especially for you cannot be exchanged or returned. If you are unsure about the size, please contact us before ordering or come by to try them on.

Do you have to wear Glerups with socks?

Not at all. Because Glerups are made of wool, you can wear them very comfortably directly on your feet. Wool can absorb moisture and helps to regulate the temperature around your feet.

Wearing socks is of course also fine. We would prefer to choose wool, so that you maintain the breathable properties of the materials. And because wool + wool is simply a very good team for cold feet.

How do you maintain Glerups wool slippers?

Don't overdo it. Seriously. Wool is a great material precisely because it doesn't need to go in the washing machine after every wear.

Let your Glerups air out well regularly in a dry, ventilated place. With normal use, that is often enough to keep them fresh.

In the beginning, some loose wool fibers or lint may appear. That is normal for natural wool felt and will decrease automatically the longer you wear the slippers.

Are they really dirty? Then treat them carefully according to the Glerups maintenance instructions. Don't just throw them in the washing machine with the towels. Wool is fantastic stuff, but you have to be a little kind to it.

Can the leather sole of Glerups be replaced?

Yes, a worn-out leather sole can be replaced if necessary. And we think that fits a good wool slipper perfectly. If the rest is still fine, why replace the whole slipper just because the bottom shows wear after years of use?

Well-maintained Glerups can therefore last a very long time.

Are Glerups suitable for both cold and sweaty feet?

That might sound like a strange combination, but that is exactly where wool can be very pleasant. The material is insulating and can absorb moisture. Your feet stay warm without being completely shut off.

If you tend to get clammy feet in synthetic slippers, a wool house slipper can be a very fine choice.

Do Glerups run big or small?

Glerups run fairly normal. In principle, choose your usual European shoe size. If you have a half size or a wide foot, you might prefer to choose a larger size. When in doubt, you can measure your foot and use our size chart.

What is better: Glerups with leather or rubber?

That depends on the use. A leather sole is supple, light, and very nice for indoors. Rubber provides more grip and handles moisture better, making that version more practical if you occasionally walk outside.

Can you wear Glerups barefoot?

Yes, very well indeed. Wool is breathable and can absorb moisture. You can therefore wear Glerups both barefoot and with socks.

Can you wash Glerups?

With normal use, regular washing is not necessary; airing them is usually enough. If your Glerups are really dirty, follow the specific care instructions for wool felt and leather and do not just put them in a regular wash.

Can I order a Glerups size outside 37 to 45?

That is possibly possible by special order. These sizes fall outside our regular stock and therefore cannot be exchanged or returned. If you are unsure about the size, please contact us first.

Wol is fantastisch

En dit is waarom:

Wol is een natuurlijk materiaal dat heerlijk warm aanvoelt en tegelijkertijd juist goed ademt. Daarnaast kan wol veel vocht opnemen zonder klam aan te voelen, wat het extra comfortabel maakt. Door de natuurlijke eigenschappen blijft wol vaak langer fris, waardoor je het minder vaak hoeft te wassen. Ook is wol sterk, veerkrachtig en gaat het bij goed onderhoud jarenlang mee. Het is dus niet alleen fijn om te dragen, maar ook een mooie, duurzame keuze.

Was koud of lauw

Was wol altijd voorzichtig koud of op maximaal 30 graden, ALTIJD met een wolwasprogramma. Wol krimpt bij temperatuurswisselingen, deze heb je niet bij een wolwasprogramma. Let op, wolwas programma is en essentie anders dan het handwasprogramma!

Gebruik wolwasmiddel

Kies altijd een mild wolwasmiddel en vermijd gewone wasmiddelen, omdat die de wolvezel kunnen beschadigen.

Niet wringen of slepen

Behandel wol rustig, laat het niet zwaar uithangen als het nat is. Wring de wol nooit uit. Druk het water er voorzichtig uit en laat het kledingstuk plat drogen op een handdoek.

Luchten is het beste!

In principe volstaat luchten ook. Was alleen als het echt nodig is!
