Glerups Forest wool bootie with leather sole
Some colors immediately evoke a feeling. Forest reminds us of moss, pine trees, and that quiet walk through the woods on a crisp autumn day. The only difference is that you don't have to leave the house to get that cozy feeling with these Glerups. Just slip them on, make some tea, and decide that the outside world can do without you for a while.
The Forest color is a calm, grayish forest green that pairs beautifully with the natural wool felt and the light brown leather sole. The high boot design covers your ankles as well, making it a wonderful choice for people who feel the cold beyond just their toes.

Who is the high Glerups model best for?
The bootie is the warmest model in the Glerups collection. While the shoe model ends below the ankle, this version extends a little higher. This provides warmth not only around your feet but also around your ankles.
This makes this model particularly great if you suffer from cold feet, spend a lot of time on cold floors, or live in an old house where the authentic details mostly consist of drafts and floors that never seem to warm up.
The shaft is neither stiff nor heavy. The wool felt becomes more supple as you wear it and starts to contour to your foot and ankle. As a result, the bootie increasingly feels like your own pair over time.
Why wool felt is so comfortable
Glerups are made of 100% natural wool felt. Wool retains heat while simultaneously allowing for breathability and moisture absorption. This keeps your feet pleasantly warm without the slippers feeling stuffy or clammy.
These wool slippers are perfect for wearing barefoot. That’s when you benefit most from the natural properties of wool. Are you always cold, or do you simply prefer wearing socks? Adding a pair of wool socks will make them even cozier.
Wool can naturally contain various shades and fibers. As a result, the Forest color may vary slightly per pair or shipment. This is part of the material's character and makes these slippers more vibrant than a synthetic, perfectly uniform product.
A leather sole for a soft and quiet step
The leather sole is supple, light, and moves easily with your foot. You get good contact with the floor, while the thick wool felt provides warmth and softness. The leather sole is also nearly silent—handy when you’re walking around the house in the morning while everyone else is still hoping to sleep in.
This sole is primarily intended for indoor use. Leather is more sensitive to moisture, dirt, and rough surfaces than natural rubber. Therefore, it is best not to walk across a wet patio or through the garden in these Glerups. Even a small daily trip to the trash bin can cause the leather to wear out faster.

Which Glerups size should you choose?
Glerups generally run true to standard European shoe sizes. The wool felt should fit snugly around your foot in a new pair, but your toes should have enough room and should not be pressed firmly against the front.
Do you normally wear a half size? Round up. For wide feet or a high instep, a size larger might also be more comfortable. However, keep in mind that a slipper that is too loose can shift while walking, which is less comfortable and causes extra friction on the wool felt.
Glerups become more supple and contour to your feet as you wear them, but they do not suddenly gain an entire size in length. Do not choose a pair that is too small in the hope that your toes will automatically get more room later.
Size chart for adults
Measure your foot from the back of your heel to the tip of your longest toe. Preferably measure both feet and use the longest one as a guide. If you plan to always wear your Glerups with socks, put those socks on while measuring.

New Glerups may shed a little
Do you see loose wool fibers or small lint on your slippers during the first few weeks? Don’t panic: this is normal for new wool felt. Excess fibers are released as you wear them. You can gently remove them with your fingers. Just removing what is already loose is sufficient; do not pull fanatically at the felt.
Usually, the shedding decreases significantly on its own after about three to four weeks. In the meantime, the wool felt becomes a bit more supple and will contour better to your feet.
How long do Glerups last?
Honestly, this varies greatly per user. Wool felt is strong, but it remains a natural material. Due to pressure and repeated friction, thin spots or holes may develop over time. Some people wear the same pair for years, while others experience visible wear within about six months due to very intensive daily use.
The fit, your walking style, the surface, and protruding toes or nails all influence this. A pair that is too large and slides around your foot will also experience extra friction.
Normal wear and tear is not automatically a product defect and is therefore not covered by the warranty. Check the wool felt occasionally near your toes, heels, and sides. Do you notice a spot starting to thin out? Then it is wise to address it early before a larger hole develops.
The leather sole will also eventually wear out with use. Whether it can be repaired or replaced depends on the location and the extent of the wear. Feel free to contact us before writing off your favorite pair; we are happy to take a look with you.
How to keep your Forest Glerups fresh
One of the great features of wool is that it hardly needs washing. Let your Glerups air out regularly and give them a day of rest now and then. Often, that is enough to make them smell fresh again.
Do you have a small stain on the wool felt? Dab it gently with a slightly damp cloth and, if necessary, a little bit of suitable wool detergent. Do not get the slipper completely wet and let it air dry away from a radiator. You can carefully brush the leather sole with a suitable leather brush. Use as little water as possible on it.
Never put Glerups in a standard washing machine or dryer. Heat, friction, and large temperature differences can cause the wool felt to shrink or deform and can damage the leather sole. Want to see why wool needs to be washed so infrequently? Watch our video on the special properties of wool.
