Some things don't need to be made more complicated than they are. Cold feet? Wrap them in wool. Done. And when you do that, do it right with the Glerups North Sea wool slippers with leather sole. A lovely high boot made of 100% natural wool felt, in that beautiful mottled blue-green color that we are rather fond of.

This is the classic, wonderfully supple version from Glerups with a leather sole. Not a hard slipper, not a thick stiff sole under your foot, but a lightweight wool house shoe that molds more and more to your foot as you wear it. And because this is the high model, not only your feet but also your ankles stay nice and warm.

What is special about the Glerups North Sea with leather sole?

For us, the charm of these Glerups lies in their simplicity. Wool felt on top, leather on the bottom. You don't really need anything else for a good house slipper.

Why are wool slippers so nice?

If you know us a little, you know you don't have to convince us about wool. We are quite the fans. Wool retains heat when it is cold, but can also breathe and absorb moisture at the same time. And that is exactly what you want for your feet.

So you get wonderfully warm feet without that trapped feeling that some synthetic slippers can give. That's why you can also wear Glerups very comfortably barefoot. In fact, that's how we like them best ourselves.

Do you really have those feet that think it's midwinter even at 24 degrees? Then put on a pair of wool socks. We can hardly make it any warmer for you ;-).

What is the difference between Glerups with a leather or rubber sole?

This North Sea boot has the leather sole. It is thinner, supple, and especially pleasant when you use your Glerups as a true house shoe. You maintain a lot of contact with the floor and the slipper therefore feels light on your foot.

Do you want to go outside regularly, for example to the garden, shed, or trash bins? Then we would rather choose a Glerups with a rubber sole. Rubber provides more grip and can better withstand a damp surface.

And yes, we have those too, of course. We have Glerups with leather soles and rubber soles, and the rubber versions in both Honey and Black. Because a little choice is nice. A lot of choice is apparently even nicer.

Can you walk outside with Glerups with a leather sole?

We would wear this version primarily indoors. The leather sole is not intended for wet or dirty surfaces. Moisture, street dirt, and rough paving will cause the leather to wear out faster and look less attractive.

Do you want a pair of Glerups you can step outside in occasionally? Then choose the version with a rubber sole. That is much more suitable for that.

Which Glerups size should I choose?

Glerups is quite consistent with your normal European shoe size. Are you a size 39? Then size 39 is a logical starting point.

Do you have a half size, for example 40.5? Then choose size 41. A larger size can also be more comfortable for a wide foot.

Keep in mind that wool felt will mold slightly to your foot as you wear it. A new Glerups may therefore feel different than a pair you have been happily shuffling around the house in for months.

We normally have our Glerups in stock from size 37 to 45. Do you need a smaller or larger size? Then we can possibly order those specially for you.

How do you maintain wool Glerups?

The good news: wool prefers that you don't do too much to it. Wool has natural properties that mean you don't have to clean your slippers nearly as often as you might think.

Letting them air out well is usually sufficient. Place them in a dry, ventilated area and let the wool do its work. In the beginning, some loose wool fibers or lint may appear. Don't panic: that is part of natural wool felt and will decrease automatically during wear.

Have they become really dirty? Then follow the Glerups maintenance instructions and treat the wool felt carefully. Above all, do not thoughtlessly throw them in your regular wash. Neither your Glerups nor we will be very happy with that.

Can the Glerups leather sole be replaced?

One of the nice things about this version is that a worn-out leather sole can possibly be replaced. This means you don't automatically have to throw away your entire Glerups when the sole in particular shows signs of wear after years of use. Very logical for a product that is made to be enjoyed for a long time.

Are Glerups suitable for sweaty feet?

Wool can be very pleasant for exactly that. Wool can absorb moisture and is breathable. As a result, the material feels less clammy than many fully synthetic slippers. That makes Glerups interesting not only for people who always have cold feet, but also for people who specifically do not want stuffy slippers.

With us! Natur-el has a huge collection of Glerups in Rotterdam, with various models, colors, women's and men's sizes, and versions with leather or rubber.

And especially with slippers, we think trying them on is actually quite nice. Because one person has a narrow foot, another a wide forefoot, and sometimes you are exactly between two sizes.

What color is North Sea from Glerups?

North Sea is a soft mottled blue-green color. Because Glerups works with natural wool felt, the color has a beautiful melange and does not look completely uniform.

Is this a women's or men's model?

The Glerups boot is a unisex model and suitable for both women and men. We normally have our regular Glerups collection from size 37 to 45.

Are Glerups warm enough for a cold floor?

Yes, wool is naturally insulating. With this boot model, the wool felt also extends up to around the ankle. This makes it one of the nicest Glerups models if you are prone to cold feet and ankles.

Do I have to wear socks in Glerups?

No. You can wear Glerups very comfortably barefoot. If you want extra warmth, you can of course combine them with wool socks.

Does Glerups run big or small?

Glerups runs quite normal. In principle, choose your usual shoe size. If you have a half size or wide feet, we recommend rounding up. If in doubt, use the foot length from our size chart.

Can I go outside with the leather sole?

We do not recommend that. The leather sole is intended primarily for indoor use and can wear out or get dirty faster on wet and rough surfaces. For occasional outdoor walking, a Glerups with a rubber sole is a better choice.

Can I wash Glerups?

Glerups hardly need cleaning with normal use. Often airing them out is enough. If they are really dirty, follow the maintenance instructions for the wool felt and leather sole and do not just toss them into the regular wash.

Can I order Glerups outside size 37 to 45?

That is possible by special order. Please note that sizes ordered especially for you that fall outside our regular stock cannot be exchanged or returned. Please contact us in advance.

Wol is fantastisch

En dit is waarom:

Wol is een natuurlijk materiaal dat heerlijk warm aanvoelt en tegelijkertijd juist goed ademt. Het helpt je lichaamstemperatuur op een fijne manier in balans te houden, zodat je het minder snel te warm of te koud krijgt. Daarnaast kan wol veel vocht opnemen zonder klam aan te voelen, wat het extra comfortabel maakt. Door de natuurlijke eigenschappen blijft wol vaak langer fris, waardoor je het minder vaak hoeft te wassen. Ook is wol sterk, veerkrachtig en gaat het bij goed onderhoud jarenlang mee. Het is dus niet alleen fijn om te dragen, maar ook een mooie, duurzame keuze.

Was koud of lauw

Was wol altijd voorzichtig koud of op maximaal 30 graden, ALTIJD met een wolwasprogramma. Wol krimpt bij temperatuurswisselingen, deze heb je niet bij een wolwasprogramma. Let op, wolwas programma is en essentie anders dan het handwasprogramma!

Gebruik wolwasmiddel

Kies altijd een mild wolwasmiddel en vermijd gewone wasmiddelen, omdat die de wolvezel kunnen beschadigen.

Niet wringen of slepen

Behandel wol rustig, laat het niet zwaar uithangen als het nat is. Wring de wol nooit uit. Druk het water er voorzichtig uit en laat het kledingstuk plat drogen op een handdoek.

Luchten is het beste!

In principe volstaat luchten ook. Was alleen als het echt nodig is!
