Grey Glerups boots with leather sole
Grey boring? Absolutely not. Grey is that wonderful color you never have to think about. It goes with every pair of pajamas, sweatpants, and house dress, and it even looks cozy when you leave your Glerups standing right next to the couch. Because let's be honest: when slippers are this comfortable, they won't be disappearing into the closet anytime soon.
These high-cut Glerups are made of 100% natural wool felt and have a flexible leather sole. The mottled grey hue beautifully highlights the natural structure of the wool. Calm, timeless, and suitable for both women and men.

The benefits of a wool boot
The Glerups boot model reaches around the ankle, keeping a larger part of your foot warm compared to the low-cut shoe or slipper model. You will really notice the difference, especially if you have cold ankles or spend a lot of time walking on cold floors.
Despite the high-cut design, these slippers do not feel heavy or stiff. The wool felt gradually becomes more flexible with wear and shapes itself perfectly to your foot. As a result, new Glerups may feel a bit firmer at first than a pair that has been fully broken in.
The opening on the side makes them easy to put on and take off while allowing the shaft to move with your ankle. You won't have to wrestle with your footwear every time you want to slip your slippers on.
Warm feet without synthetic suffocation
Wool can retain heat while simultaneously offering breathable and moisture-regulating properties. This keeps your Glerups comfortably warm without completely sealing your feet off. This makes them very different from many synthetic slippers, in which warm feet can quickly turn into clammy feet.
You can wear Glerups directly against your skin. Wool helps regulate temperature and moisture, and many people find it exceptionally comfortable. Prefer to wear socks? That's certainly possible, too. Adding wool socks makes them extra warm for really cold days.
Because wool is a natural product, the grey shade may vary slightly per pair or delivery. There may also be small nuances visible in the mottled fibers. This is not a color or manufacturing defect, but part of the natural character of the wool felt.
Why choose a leather sole?
A leather sole is light, flexible, and quiet. It moves easily with your feet and provides pleasant, natural contact with the floor. It feels almost like you're walking around the house on a thick layer of wool, but with a protective layer of leather underneath.
This version is primarily intended for indoor use. Leather does not handle moisture, street dirt, or rough pavement well. Therefore, it is best not to walk through the garden, on a wet balcony, or to the mailbox daily in these Glerups. This can cause the sole to wear out or become damaged much faster.
Would you like to use your Glerups for short trips outside? Then it is better to choose a version with a natural rubber sole. View all Glerups with rubber soles here.
If you prefer to stay inside and are looking for a soft, flexible slipper, then leather is a wonderful choice. You can find other colors and models in our Glerups with leather sole collection.
What size grey Glerups do you need?
Glerups European sizes generally correspond well with standard shoe sizes. A new pair should fit nicely around your foot, but your toes should be free and should not press hard against the wool felt at the front.
If you are a half-size, choose the next whole size up. For example, if you are a 40.5, you should go for a 41. If you have wide feet or a high instep, a larger size may also be more comfortable.
Don't choose Glerups that are unnecessarily large. If your foot slides around in the slipper while walking, it creates extra friction. This is less comfortable and can cause the wool felt to wear out faster. The wool will shape to your foot as you wear it, but a pair that is too short will not suddenly become a full size longer.
Size chart Glerups for adults
To choose your size, measure both feet from the back of the heel to the tip of your longest toe. Use the length of your largest foot. If you want to always wear your Glerups with socks, put those socks on before measuring.

Help, my new Glerups are shedding
New Glerups may shed some loose wool fibers during the first few weeks. This is normal and happens as excess fibers work their way out during walking. Gently remove loose fluff with your fingers. Do not pull on fibers that are still firmly attached to the felt.
After about three to four weeks, the shedding will usually decrease on its own. At the same time, the wool felt will become more flexible, and the pair will shape itself more and more to your feet.
Honesty about wool felt wear
Glerups are carefully made, but wool remains a natural material. Due to pressure and friction, thin spots or holes may eventually develop in the wool felt. How quickly this happens varies significantly per wearer.
Some people wear the same pair for years. With very intensive daily use, visible wear can sometimes occur within about six months. Your walking style, the fit, the surface, and protruding toes or nails all have an influence on this.
Normal wear and tear is not automatically a manufacturing defect and is therefore not covered by the warranty. A well-fitting size helps reduce unnecessary sliding and chafing. Check the felt at the toes, heels, and sides occasionally. If you see a thin spot developing, it is better to take action early rather than waiting until there is a large hole.
A leather sole will also wear down during use. Whether it can be repaired or replaced depends on the location and extent of the wear. If in doubt, please contact us. We prefer to take a look first before you part ways with your beloved slippers.
How to clean grey Glerups?
Wool has self-cleaning properties and therefore barely needs to be washed. Air the slippers out regularly and give them a day off every now and then. That is usually enough to keep them fresh.
A small stain can be gently dabbed with a slightly damp cloth and optionally a tiny bit of suitable wool detergent. Do not soak the entire boot and always let it dry slowly in the air. Never place wet wool felt against a radiator.
Dirt on the leather sole can be carefully removed with a suitable leather brush. Use as little water as possible, as it can make the leather hard or patchy.
Never put Glerups in a regular washing machine or dryer. Heat, friction, and temperature changes can cause the wool felt to shrink or deform and can damage the leather sole. Curious about why wool needs so little washing? Watch our video on the special properties of wool.
