All about this product

Glerups bootie Grey with honey-brown rubber sole

This is one of those pairs where you think afterwards: why did I wait so long for these? The high Glerups in classic grey are calm, timeless and, above all, incredibly comfortable. No complicated hassle, just warm feet in a wool slipper that also looks remarkably good.

The light grey wool felt is combined with a honey-brown natural rubber sole. That warm Honey sole gives the grey just enough contrast and makes this version feel a bit softer and more natural than a version with a black sole.

This is the high boot model from Glerups. The shaft sits around the ankle, providing extra warmth. Perfect for cold floors, crisp mornings, long days working from home, and evenings when you can't think of any reason to go outside anymore.

  • High Glerups bootie up to the ankle
  • Classic light grey color
  • Honey-brown natural rubber sole
  • Made from 100% pure and natural wool felt
  • Warm, breathable and temperature-regulating
  • Suitable for men and women
  • For indoors and a quick step outside

Why do so many people choose Glerups?

Because they are wonderfully comfortable. It's as simple as that. Glerups are made of 100% natural wool felt. Wool keeps your feet warm but does not seal them off completely. The material breathes, helps regulate your temperature, and can absorb moisture without feeling clammy.

That makes these wool slippers not only great during freezing winter days. They remain surprisingly comfortable in spring and autumn, and for some people, even in summer.

You can wear Glerups with bare feet. This allows you to optimally benefit from the natural properties of the wool. Do you prefer wearing socks? That is perfectly fine, too. With a pair of wool socks, you make it extra cozy.

The wool felt feels firm at first but becomes increasingly supple while wearing and gradually shapes to your foot. As a result, your Glerups will become more personalized over time.

What is the advantage of the rubber Honey sole?

The honey-brown sole is made of natural rubber. This sole provides more protection against moisture and dirt than a leather sole. So, you can safely walk to the mailbox, the shed, the trash bin, or the garden without having to change shoes immediately.

Glerups with a rubber sole are also particularly practical for a holiday home, caravan, camper, or a crisp morning at the campsite. View all Glerups with a natural rubber sole here.

These are still slippers, not regular outdoor shoes. Therefore, do not use them for long walks, daily outdoor use, or intensive walking on rough pavement. That can accelerate the wear of the wool felt and the sole.

Also, be careful on wet tiles, slippery floors, and ice. Even a natural rubber sole can be treacherous on a slippery or frozen surface.

Which Glerups size should I choose?

Glerups sizes generally correspond fairly well to regular European shoe sizes. They should fit snugly at first, but your toes must have enough space and should not press hard against the front.

Do you have a half size? Glerups recommends rounding up. We also always look closely at the width of your foot and how much space you have in the slipper. A Glerups that is much too loose can start to slide while walking. That is less comfortable and causes extra friction in the wool felt.

Do you have wide feet or a high instep? Then the larger size may be more comfortable. Just don't expect a pair that is too short to stretch out significantly in length. The wool felt becomes more supple and shapes primarily around your foot.

Are you in doubt between two sizes or between the bootie, shoe model, and the slip-on? Read our complete Glerups selection guide. There you will find extensive size advice, and we also explain the difference between the leather and rubber soles.

Why do new Glerups shed?

New Glerups may shed some loose wool fibers or lint during the first three to four weeks. This is normal and is part of the natural finishing of the wool. You can simply remove the loose lint carefully with your fingers. This usually decreases over time.

Because Glerups are made of natural wool felt, the color can also vary slightly per shipment. This is not a defect but is part of using a natural material.

Can the Glerups wool felt wear out?

Yes. We want to be honest about that, too. Natural wool felt is wonderfully warm and comfortable but not indestructible. Through pressure and friction, thin spots or holes can develop over time.

How quickly that happens varies greatly per wearer. Some people wear the same pair for years, while intensive daily use can sometimes result in visible wear within about six months. This has to do with, among other things, your way of walking, the fit, your toes or nails, the surface, and how often you wear the slippers.

Normal wear and tear is therefore not automatically a manufacturing defect and is not covered by the warranty. Make sure your Glerups fit well and do not constantly slide around your foot. Also, check the toes, heels, and sides occasionally. Do you see the wool felt getting thinner somewhere? Then it is better to take action immediately than to wait until a large hole appears.

How do you clean Glerups?

Wool has natural self-cleaning properties. Often, regular airing and giving the slippers a rest day occasionally is enough to keep them fresh.

A small stain can be gently dabbed with a slightly damp cloth and a little suitable wool detergent. Do not soak the entire slipper and let the wool felt dry slowly. The natural rubber sole can simply be wiped with a damp cloth.

Never put Glerups in a regular washing machine or dryer. Due to heat, friction, and temperature differences, the wool felt can shrink or deform. Do you want to know why wool needs to be washed so little? Watch our video about the special properties of wool.

Wol is fantastisch

And just like that, you were gone!

Was koud of lauw
