Once you have worn Glerups, you immediately understand why people can be so fanatical about them. They are warm, but not sweaty. Soft, but not that flimsy kind of slipper. And this Glerups wool boot with rubber sole also keeps your ankles wonderfully warm. In my opinion, it is just about the ultimate winter slipper.
We have been fans of Glerups for years ourselves and now have a huge collection in our store: all the colors Glerups makes, women's and men's sizes, and various styles. We carry this boot with both the Honey rubber sole and the Black rubber sole. Prefer the classic version? We also have Glerups with a leather sole.
Why are Glerups wool slippers so nice?
The upper of Glerups is made of 100% natural wool felt. And wool is, of course, brilliant stuff for your feet. It insulates when it's cold, breathes, and can absorb quite a bit of moisture without feeling clammy. This makes Glerups wonderful with socks, but also directly on your bare feet.
This model is the taller boot version from Glerups. The wool felt continues up to the ankle, ensuring that not only your feet but also your ankles stay nice and warm. This is especially lovely if you are prone to cold feet at home.

What is the advantage of Glerups with a rubber sole?
Are you hesitating between a Glerups with a leather sole or a rubber sole? The most important difference lies in where and how you want to wear them.
The rubber sole is sturdier, provides more grip, and is better at handling damp surfaces. Need to quickly run to the shed, the mailbox, the trash bin, or grab something outside? Then this version is much more practical than the variant with a leather sole. And also nice: the rubber sole of Glerups does not leave marks on your floor.
They are still slippers, of course, and not real outdoor shoes. So I wouldn't go for a nice stroll around Rotterdam in them. But for those short trips outside, the rubber sole is ideal.
What is the difference between the Honey and Black rubber sole?
In terms of function, both options give you a sturdy rubber sole with grip. The difference is mainly in the appearance. The Honey sole has that recognizable warm, natural rubber color, while the Black sole is darker and a bit tougher. Which one is nicer? That mainly depends on the color of Glerups you choose and, of course, your own taste.
What size Glerups should I choose?
Glerups should fit comfortably around your foot. Furthermore, the wool felt will mold itself to your foot a little more as you wear them. Therefore, in principle, choose your normal shoe size.
Do you want to check it as accurately as possible at home? Then measure your foot length. Stand with your foot on a piece of paper, make a mark at your heel and at your longest toe, and measure the distance between them. Then compare that length with the Glerups size chart below.

Good to know: at Natur-el, we normally have Glerups in stock from size 37 to 45. Do you need a different size? Then we can see if we can order it especially for you.
Note: Glerups that we order especially for you outside of our regular sizes cannot be exchanged or returned. Therefore, measure your feet carefully and contact us before ordering if in doubt. We are happy to help you think it through.
Do Glerups run large or small?
Glerups generally run true to size. The most important thing is that they fit snugly without your toes being pressed against the front. Also keep in mind that the wool felt will start to mold to your foot through wear.
Are you between two sizes or do you have wide feet? Then the larger size might be more comfortable. By all means, use the foot length from the table above. And do you live somewhere near Rotterdam? Then I wouldn't complicate things at all: just come by and try them on. We have so many sizes and versions available that you can compare them properly right away.
Do you wear Glerups with or without socks?
Both are possible. But wool actually comes into its own when worn directly against the skin. The wool helps regulate heat and moisture, which makes Glerups surprisingly comfortable barefoot.
Are you on team thick wool socks IN your wool slippers? Also absolutely fine, of course. No one is stopping you. In fact: on a truly cold morning, I completely understand you.
How do you maintain Glerups wool slippers?
The nice thing about wool is that you don't have to wash it constantly. Wool has natural properties that often make proper airing sufficient. Place your Glerups in a dry, well-ventilated spot every now and then and give the wool a chance to freshen up.
In the beginning, some loose wool fibers or lint may appear. Don't panic: that is not unusual with wool felt and says nothing about the quality of your slippers. It is better not to pull on them fanatically.
Do they really need to be cleaned? Then always follow the Glerups maintenance instructions and handle both the wool felt and the sole carefully.
What is better: Glerups with a rubber or leather sole?
That entirely depends on what you want to do with them. The rubber sole is more practical if you want more grip, prefer a sturdier sole, or occasionally walk a short distance outside.
The leather sole is thinner and more flexible and provides more of that classic slipper feel indoors. We have both versions. So you can simply try them on side-by-side and feel for yourself what you like best.

Frequently asked questions about Glerups wool slippers
Are Glerups suitable if you have sweaty feet?
Wool is naturally breathable and can absorb moisture. As a result, your feet in wool slippers often feel less clammy than in slippers made largely of synthetic materials.
Can you wear Glerups barefoot?
Certainly. In fact: it is precisely directly against the skin that you get the most benefit from the properties of wool. Of course, you can also just wear them with socks.
Can you go outside in Glerups with a rubber sole?
For a short trip outside, that is perfectly fine. The rubber sole provides grip and can handle a damp surface better than a leather sole. However, they remain slippers and are therefore not intended as regular outdoor shoes.
Does the rubber sole of Glerups leave marks?
No, the rubber sole of these Glerups does not leave marks on your floor.
Do you have Glerups with a black rubber sole?
Yes. We have Glerups with both the Honey rubber sole and the Black rubber sole. In addition, we sell Glerups with a leather sole.
Which Glerups colors do you have?
We have Glerups in all colors the brand offers. The current stock can, of course, vary by color, model, and size.
Which Glerups sizes do you have in stock?

What should I do if I am hesitating between two sizes?
Measure your foot and compare the length with the Glerups size chart above. Do you have wide feet or are you exactly between two sizes? Then the larger size might be more comfortable. Still in doubt? Then contact us or come and try them on in our store in Rotterdam.
