All about this product

Glerups bootie Cranberry with honey-brown rubber sole

Okay, if you’re going for warm feet, you might as well make a party out of it. And that’s easy enough to do with these Glerups in the color Cranberry. The warm berry shade sits somewhere between deep red and dark pink and is combined with a honey-brown natural rubber sole. Pleasantly colorful, but not loud. Just right.

This is the high boot model from Glerups. The soft wool felt wraps around your foot and ankle, giving you that little bit of extra warmth. It is especially nice if you have cold floors, work from home a lot, or are simply always the one saying the heating could be turned up a degree.

  • High Glerups bootie up to the ankle
  • Warm cranberry color with honey-brown sole
  • Made of 100% pure and natural wool felt
  • Sturdy natural rubber sole
  • Warm, breathable, and temperature-regulating
  • Suitable for indoors and a quick trip outside
  • Great for women and men who aren't afraid of color

Why are Glerups so incredibly nice?

Glerups are made of 100% natural wool felt. Wool keeps your feet wonderfully warm, but can simultaneously absorb a lot of moisture without feeling clammy. Because of this, a wool slipper feels very different from a synthetic one where your feet start to feel stifled after a while.

You can wear Glerups barefoot. That way you benefit optimally from the temperature-regulating properties of the wool. Do you prefer wearing socks? That’s possible too, of course. Add a pair of wool socks and you’ve created just about the most comfortable winter combination we can think of.

The high shaft of this boot model provides extra warmth around the ankle. The wool felt becomes more supple as you wear it and gradually molds to your foot. That is why your Glerups will truly feel like *your* Glerups after a while.

What is the advantage of the rubber Honey sole?

The honey-brown sole is made of natural rubber. This sole protects better against moisture and dirt than a leather sole. So you can safely step outside to the mailbox, the shed, the bin, or the garden. Glerups with a rubber sole are also incredibly nice in a holiday home, caravan, or at a chilly campsite.

However, they remain slippers and are not full-fledged outdoor shoes. Therefore, do not use them for long walks or daily walking on rough pavement. This prevents unnecessary wear and tear on the wool felt and the sole. Also, be careful on wet tiles, slippery floors, and ice. Natural rubber can be slippery on those surfaces too.

Which Glerups size should I choose?

Glerups sizes generally correspond fairly well to regular European shoe sizes. The wool felt may be snug at first, but your toes should be able to move freely. They should not press hard against the front of the slipper.

Are you a half size? Glerups recommends sizing up. Still, it is important that the slipper is not too loose. If your foot keeps sliding inside the Glerups while walking, it creates extra friction. That is not only less comfortable, but it can also accelerate the wear of the wool felt.

If you have wide feet or a high instep, the larger size might actually be more comfortable. Just don't expect a model that is too short to stretch significantly in length. The wool felt primarily becomes more supple and molds in width and around your foot.

Are you in doubt between different models, soles, or sizes? Read our complete Glerups selection guide. There, we explain everything clearly and honestly.

Do new Glerups shed?

Yes, new Glerups may shed some loose wool fibers or lint at first. This happens especially during the first three to four weeks and is part of the natural finish of wool felt. You can simply remove the loose lint with your fingers. Over time, this will decrease on its own.

Can Glerups wool felt wear out?

We like to be clear about this: wool is a wonderful natural product, but it is not indestructible. Due to pressure and friction, thin spots or holes may appear in the wool felt over time.

How quickly this happens varies greatly per person. Some people wear the same pair for years, while intensive daily use can sometimes lead to visible wear within about six months. This can be related to your walking style, the fit, your toes or nails, the surface, and how often you wear the slippers.

Normal wear and tear therefore does not automatically mean there is a manufacturing defect and is not covered by the warranty. A well-fitting size helps to limit unnecessary friction. Check your Glerups occasionally at the toes, heels, and sides. Do you see the wool felt getting thinner in places? Then you can catch it early and prevent a small spot from quickly getting bigger.

How do you clean Glerups?

Usually, you don't need to wash Glerups at all. Wool has natural self-cleaning properties. Regular airing and occasionally giving the slippers a day of rest is often enough to keep them fresh.

Do you have a stain? Dab it gently with a slightly damp cloth and a little bit of suitable wool detergent. Do not soak the entire slipper and let the wool felt dry naturally. The rubber sole can be easily wiped down with a damp cloth.

Never put Glerups in a regular washing machine or dryer. Heat, friction, and temperature differences can cause the wool felt to shrink or deform. Want to know why wool requires so little washing? Watch our video on the special properties of wool.

Wol is fantastisch

And just like that, you were gone!

Was koud of lauw
