Glerups bootie Charcoal with honey-brown rubber sole
There are some colors that are truly uncomplicated. Charcoal is one of them. Dark gray, cool, and easy to pair with just about anything you wear at home. From a neat pair of pajamas to those sweatpants you’ve been saying need replacing for three years now.
These high-top Glerups are made of 100% pure, natural wool felt. The dark gray Charcoal color is combined with a honey-brown natural rubber sole. That color contrast gives the slippers a warm, natural look and makes them just a little less stark than an all-black version.
The high boot model fits around the ankle, providing extra warmth. Ideal for cold floors, crisp mornings, work-from-home days, and anyone who loves walking around the house with warm feet from September well into spring.

Why are wool Glerups so comfortable?
Wool keeps your feet warm without completely sealing them off. The material breathes, helps regulate your temperature, and can absorb moisture without feeling clammy. This makes Glerups very different from synthetic slippers, in which your feet eventually become hot and sweaty.
You can perfectly well wear Glerups barefoot, allowing the wool to utilize its natural properties optimally. Prefer wearing socks? That’s fine, too. With a pair of wool socks, you’ll have about the warmest setup for your feet that we can imagine here at Natur-el.
The high shaft closes around your ankle and provides a bit more shelter than the low shoe model or the slip-on. The wool felt becomes more supple as you wear it and molds increasingly to your foot.
Why choose a rubber Honey sole?
The honey-brown natural rubber sole is sturdier and more resistant to moisture and dirt than a leather sole. You can confidently step out in these Glerups to the mailbox, the shed, the trash bin, or into the garden. They are also wonderful for a vacation home, caravan, or a chilly morning at the campsite.
However, they remain slippers. They are not made for long walks, intensive outdoor use, or daily walking on rough pavement. That would cause the wool felt and the sole to wear out unnecessarily fast.
Also, always be careful on wet tiles, slippery floors, and ice. Natural rubber can also become treacherous on a slick or frozen surface.

Which Glerups size should I choose?
Generally, Glerups correspond fairly well to regular European shoe sizes. They may be nice and snug at first, but your toes should have enough room. They should not press hard against the front.
Do you have a half size? Glerups themselves recommend rounding up. However, we feel it is just as important that a pair of Glerups is not too loose on your foot. When your foot slides back and forth while walking, it creates extra friction. That is less comfortable and can accelerate the wear of the wool felt.
For wide feet or a high instep, the larger size might actually feel better. Just don't expect a model that is too short to stretch out significantly in length. The felt becomes more supple and forms around your foot, but your toes need enough space from the start.

Why do new Glerups shed?
New Glerups may shed some loose wool fibers or lint during the first three to four weeks. This is normal and is part of the natural finish of wool felt. Simply pull the loose lint off gently with your fingers. Usually, this decreases on its own after a while.
Can Glerups wool felt wear out?
Yes. We prefer to be clear about that in advance. Wool is a beautiful natural product, but it is not indestructible. Over time, pressure and friction can cause thin spots or holes in the wool felt.
How quickly this happens varies greatly from person to person. Some people wear the same pair for years, while intensive daily use can sometimes lead to visible wear within about six months. This depends on your gait, the fit, protruding toes or nails, the surface, and how often you wear the slippers.
Normal wear and tear is therefore not automatically a manufacturing defect and is not covered under warranty. A well-fitting size helps reduce sliding and unnecessary friction. Check your Glerups occasionally at the toes, heels, and sides. Do you see the wool felt getting thinner somewhere? Then it’s better to address it early rather than wait until a large hole appears.
How do you clean Glerups?
Wool has natural self-cleaning properties. Often, regular airing out and giving the slippers a day off once in a while is enough to keep them fresh.
Have a stain on the wool felt? Dab it gently with a slightly damp cloth and a little bit of suitable wool detergent. Do not soak the entire slipper and let it dry slowly. You can easily clean the rubber sole with a damp cloth.
Never put Glerups in a standard washing machine or dryer. Heat, friction, and temperature fluctuations can cause the wool felt to shrink or deform. Want to know why wool requires so little washing? Watch our video on the special properties of wool.
