All about this product

Green Glerups boots with honey-brown rubber sole

Some people call these slippers. We think that’s a bit disrespectful, actually. Because these high-cut Glerups in the color Forest are so fine, warm, and sturdy that ordinary slippers suddenly seem rather shabby in comparison.

The high boot model fits snugly around your ankle and is made of 100% pure, natural wool felt. The deep forest green color complements the honey-brown natural rubber sole beautifully. Calm, rugged, and just a little bit different from grey or black. And yes, this model is unisex. After all, warm feet couldn't care less about women's or men's departments.

  • High Glerups slipper up to the ankle
  • Color: Forest, a deep natural shade of green
  • Honey sole made of honey-brown natural rubber
  • Made of 100% pure and natural wool felt
  • Suitable for men and women
  • Warm without feeling clammy
  • For indoors and quick trips outside

Why are Glerups so great?

Wool is naturally temperature-regulating, breathable, and capable of absorbing moisture without feeling clammy. This makes Glerups wonderfully warm when it's cold, while usually feeling much less stuffy than synthetic slippers.

You can wear them barefoot so the wool can do its job optimally. Prefer wearing socks? That’s perfectly fine, too. With a pair of thin or warm wool socks inside, you create just about the ultimate package for cold feet.

The high shaft provides extra warmth around the ankle. This makes this boot model particularly nice for cold floors, chilly mornings, and anyone who is stuck at their desk with ice-cold feet while working from home.

What is the advantage of the rubber sole?

The Honey sole is made of natural rubber and provides more protection against moisture and dirt than a leather sole. So you can easily step out to the mailbox, the shed, the trash bins, or into the garden. See all Glerups with a rubber sole here.

They remain slippers, not outdoor shoes. They are not intended for long walks, rough pavement, or daily outdoor use. Even a rubber sole can become treacherously slippery on wet tiles, smooth floors, or ice. So be a little careful.

Which Glerups size should I choose?

Glerups generally correspond quite well to your regular shoe size. They may feel snug at first, but your toes should be able to move freely and not press hard against the front. The wool felt becomes more supple as you wear them and will increasingly mold to your foot.

Between sizes? Glerups itself advises rounding up. However, we also always look closely at the width of your foot. A slipper that is too loose will slide around, and that extra friction can accelerate wear and tear. Furthermore, don't count on a model that is too short to stretch significantly in length.

When in doubt, measure both feet and go by the longest foot. Or even easier: read our complete Glerups buying guide. We explain the differences between the models, soles, and sizes in detail there.

Do new Glerups pill?

Yes, that is possible. Especially during the first three to four weeks, loose wool fibers or small pills may appear on the inside. This is normal and is due to the natural finish of the wool. You can simply remove the loose fibers by hand. Usually, the pilling will decrease on its own over time.

Can the wool felt of Glerups wear out?

We prefer to be very honest about that in advance: yes, wool can wear out. Glerups are made of natural wool felt, which is wonderfully comfortable but not indestructible. Over time, pressure and friction can cause thin spots or holes to develop.

How quickly this happens varies enormously. Some people wear the same pair for years, while intensive daily use can sometimes lead to visible wear within about six months. This depends on factors such as your gait, the fit, protruding toes or nails, the surface, and how often you wear the slippers. Normal wear and tear is therefore not automatically a manufacturing defect and is not covered by the warranty.

A well-fitting size helps. Do not use your Glerups as outdoor shoes on a regular basis, and check occasionally to see if a thin spot is developing at the toes, heel, or sides. The sooner you spot such a spot, the easier it is to prevent further damage.

How do you clean Glerups?

Wool has natural self-cleaning properties. Therefore, make sure to let your Glerups air out regularly and give them a day of rest now and then. That is usually enough to keep them fresh.

You can gently dab a stain with a slightly damp cloth and a little bit of wool detergent. Do not soak the entire slipper immediately, and let it dry slowly before repeating the treatment if necessary. You can wipe the rubber sole with a damp cloth.

Never put Glerups in a regular washing machine or dryer. Heat, friction, and temperature differences can cause the wool felt to shrink or lose its shape. Want to know why wool requires so little washing? Watch our video on the special properties of wool.

Where are Glerups made?

Glerups is a Danish brand that has been making wool slippers for over thirty years. The models are designed in Denmark and produced in their own factory in Romania. The brand uses its own blend of natural wool and follows the production process from wool to slipper.

Wol is fantastisch

And just like that, you were gone!

Was koud of lauw
