Blue slippers boring? Well, these absolutely aren't. The Glerups North Sea is such an incredibly beautiful, greyish-blue shade that Glerups is so good at. Not neon blue, not frumpy, but a color that actually goes with everything. And on top of that, this is the high Glerups boot with a Honey rubber sole. In other words: warm feet, warm ankles, and plenty of grip.
These wool slippers are made of 100% natural wool felt. No thick synthetic lining that makes your feet feel clammy after half an hour, but wool: warm when it's cold, breathable, and capable of absorbing moisture. Precisely the reason why we have been fans of Glerups for years ourselves – and why we now have one of the largest collections of Glerups in Rotterdam and the surrounding area.
Why is the Glerups North Sea boot so nice?
You especially notice the difference compared to a regular low slipper on cold days. This Glerups model goes up to around the ankle, which keeps not only your feet but also your ankles nice and warm. Especially on cold floors, we think that is a real godsend.
And then there's that color. North Sea is a beautiful heathered blue-green shade that, together with the warm color of the Honey sole, is perhaps one of the most beautiful Glerups combinations. But hey, that last part is of course entirely objectively determined by us ;-).

What does wool do for your feet?
There is a reason why Glerups uses wool specifically. Wool can insulate without completely sealing off your feet. The material can also absorb moisture and helps regulate temperature. As a result, wool slippers feel comfortably warm, but become clammy less quickly than many synthetic slippers.
And yes: you can also just wear Glerups barefoot. In fact, we think that's the best way to wear them ourselves. Do you want maximum warmth for your feet? Then you can of course also combine them with a pair of wool socks.
What is the Honey rubber sole from Glerups?
Glerups makes different versions. You can choose a leather sole or a rubber one, and for the rubber version, there are several colors available. This North Sea boot has the Honey rubber sole: the natural honey-colored variant that combines beautifully with the heathered blue of the wool felt.
But that sole is of course not just for looks. Rubber provides more grip and handles damp surfaces better than leather. Useful if you have slippery floors at home or need to go outside for a moment.
Also good to know: the rubber sole does not leave marks on your floor.
Can you walk outside in Glerups with a rubber sole?
Step into the garden, go to the shed, put the trash bin out, or grab the mail? Yes, absolutely. The rubber sole can handle a damp surface and is much more practical for that than the leather version.
But don't turn them into hiking boots ;-). Glerups are primarily wool house shoes. They are not made for structural outdoor use.
Which Glerups size should I choose?
The sizing of Glerups corresponds reasonably well to your normal European shoe size. If you have size 40, for example, size 40 will usually be correct.
Do you have a half shoe size? Then round up. For a 40.5, we recommend size 41. Also, if you have wide feet, a size larger can be more comfortable.
The wool felt will also mold slightly to your foot during wear. Your new Glerups don't have to feel exactly the same on day one as they will after you've worn them for a while.

Which Glerups sizes does Natur-el have in stock?
We normally have Glerups in stock from size 37 to 45. Is your size not listed? We can possibly order other sizes specifically for you.
Important: sizes that we order specifically for you and that fall outside our regular stock cannot be exchanged or returned. Are you in doubt about the size? Please contact us first or come and try them on in the store. Then we can take a look with you.
Should you wear Glerups with or without socks?
Both work. Wool is actually very pleasant directly against the skin, so Glerups are wonderful to wear barefoot. The wool absorbs moisture and helps prevent your feet from feeling clammy quickly.
If you are really part of team COLD FEET, you can of course just add a nice wool sock. That will only make them warmer.
How do you maintain Glerups wool slippers?
The nice thing about wool is that you don't have to wash it every time something happens. Often, giving them a good airing out is enough. Place your Glerups in a dry, well-ventilated area and give the wool a chance to refresh itself.
In the beginning, some loose wool fibers or fuzz may appear. That is normal with natural wool felt and will decrease by itself as you wear them.
Have your Glerups become truly dirty? Then treat the wool felt carefully according to Glerups' maintenance instructions. Do not just throw them in with your regular laundry. Wool can stay beautiful for a very long time, provided you leave it alone a bit. And we actually think that's a nice feature.
Rubber or leather sole for Glerups: which one do you choose?
That mainly depends on how you use your slippers. A leather sole is wonderfully flexible and mainly intended for indoors. The rubber sole provides more grip, handles moisture better, and is more practical if you occasionally step outside.
At Natur-el, we have both versions. And because we apparently aren't very good at doing things by halves, we also have Glerups with rubber soles in Honey AND Black and in many different colors.

Frequently asked questions about Glerups North Sea
What color is Glerups North Sea?
North Sea is a heathered blue-green shade. Due to the natural wool felt, the color has a beautiful, soft blend instead of one completely solid color.
Are these Glerups suitable for men and women?
Yes. The Glerups boot is unisex and can be worn by both men and women. Choose the size based on your normal shoe size and, if necessary, your measured foot length.
Are Glerups suitable for cold feet?
Yes. The 100% wool upper is insulating, and this high model also covers the ankle. This makes the boot a great choice when you tend to have cold feet or ankles.
Are wool Glerups suitable for sweaty feet?
Wool is breathable and can absorb moisture. As a result, wool slippers often feel less clammy than slippers that consist largely of synthetic materials.
Do Glerups run big or small?
Glerups fit reasonably normally. Basically, take your usual shoe size. For a half size or wide foot, we recommend rounding up. If in doubt, use the foot length in our size chart.
Can the Honey rubber sole handle water?
The rubber sole handles a damp surface just fine. This allows you, for example, to briefly go outside in them. However, the wool upper does not make Glerups into rain or outdoor shoes.
Does the Glerups rubber sole leave black marks?
No. The Glerups rubber sole does not leave marks on your floor.
Can I order a different Glerups size?
Our regular stock runs from size 37 to 45. We can possibly order other sizes specifically for you. Specially ordered sizes outside our regular stock cannot be exchanged or returned.
