What makes the HIRSCH NATUR MAGIC socks so special?
We have loved the pure wool socks from HIRSCH NATUR for years, and we thought it was so much fun to have our own exclusive color combinations made. MAGIC is the newest color we have added to that unique Natur-el collection.
The combination of purple and dark green suddenly gives the classic Norwegian pattern a completely different look. A bit mysterious, a bit quirky, and above all, incredibly beautiful. The cuff, heel, and toe are finished in purple, while the pattern on the rest of the sock combines purple and dark green.
So, do you want wool socks that are not only warm and natural, but that you don't see on everyone's feet? Then you've found them.
Are these HIRSCH NATUR socks really made of 100% wool?
Yes. The knit of these socks consists of 100% organic KBT wool. There are no synthetic yarns like polyester or polyamide knitted through the wool sock. And that is special, because in many socks sold as 'wool socks,' a significant part of the material still consists of synthetic fibers.
Only the cuff contains tiny elastic threads to ensure the sock stays in place and does not slide down. These do not touch the skin. Furthermore, the cuff is not overly tight, making the socks comfortable even if you have wider ankles.
Why are pure wool socks so comfortably warm?
Cold feet can make you feel cold from head to toe. That is exactly why good warm wool socks are so nice. Wool retains a layer of air and helps to maintain your body heat, while the material can simultaneously breathe and absorb moisture.
That is exactly the difference compared to many synthetic socks: these HIRSCH NATUR socks consist of pure wool. They keep your feet comfortably warm without being wrapped in a layer of polyester.
How do the HIRSCH NATUR wool socks fit?
These socks run large, so if in doubt, always choose the smaller size. Wool often gets a bit looser during wear, and a wool sock that is too big can shift or fold. That is uncomfortable and can accelerate wear.
For example: if you wear about size 39/40, choose size 38/39. If you are around size 40/42, size 40/41 is usually the better choice. Still in doubt? Feel free to contact us for size advice.
Do you have to wash 100% wool socks?
No! You should wash pure wool socks as little as possible. Wool has natural self-cleaning properties. Hang your socks out for a night after wearing them, and often you can just put them back on the next day.

If they eventually do need to be washed? Use a cold wool wash cycle, spin at the lowest possible speed, and always use a wool detergent with lanolin, such as our own LANALICIOUS wool detergent for wool and silk. Let the socks air dry afterwards and never put them in the tumble dryer.
Do 100% wool socks wear out faster?
Yes. Pure wool socks wear out – even yours. And we want to be very honest about that. Precisely because these socks have no synthetic yarns like polyamide in the wool knit, they are more fragile than socks where wool is blended with synthetic material.
How quickly that happens varies enormously from person to person. One person wears them for several winters, while someone else develops a thin spot much faster. This has to do with, among other things, your way of walking, your shoes, and how much friction occurs in certain places.
Therefore, always wear wool socks in well-fitting shoes. If your foot slides in your shoe, extra friction occurs and the wool can wear out much faster. We also recommend rotating several pairs and giving your wool socks a day of rest after wearing them.
How do you prevent holes in wool socks?
You cannot completely prevent wear in pure wool, but you can certainly help extend their lifespan significantly. Check your socks regularly, especially at the toes, under the ball of your foot, and at the heel. Do you see the wool starting to get thinner somewhere? Repair that spot before a real hole appears.

Note: thin wool socks are naturally more fragile than thick wool socks. Holes caused by normal wear and tear are therefore not covered by the warranty.
What does KBT wool mean?
KBT stands for kontrolliert biologische Tierhaltung: controlled organic animal husbandry. The wool therefore comes from organic farming where requirements are set for, among other things, the living conditions of the animals. In addition, these HIRSCH NATUR socks are GOTS-certified and produced in Germany.
