The LANGERCHEN RISANA NIGHT is an elegant wool city parka in a particularly deep dark blue color. NIGHT is darker than NAVY and STEEL BLUE and can appear almost black in low light. In daylight, the blue undertone becomes more visible again. It is a very easy color to wear, but just a little softer and more interesting than plain black.

The coat combines organic wool and cotton with a thin technical membrane. This makes RISANA look like a beautiful wool winter coat, while at the same time blocking wind, breathing, and handling a normal rain shower.

The deepest dark blue

NIGHT is the darkest shade of blue in the LangerChen coat collection. STEEL BLUE is clearly lighter and more blue-grey, NAVY is classic dark blue, and NIGHT goes one step deeper. This makes it just as easy to combine as a black coat, while the color looks less harsh.

That makes NIGHT very suitable for those looking for one winter coat that goes with almost everything. Over a smart outfit, but just as well with jeans and sturdy shoes. Not a complicated color, but a very beautiful one.

Technical protection without the plastic look

The outside of RISANA is made of organic wool, and the inside is made of soft organic cotton jersey. Between these two layers is a thin polyurethane membrane.

This membrane stops cold wind, protects against rain, and gives the wool fabric extra stability. At the same time, body heat and perspiration can escape. As a result, RISANA feels more pleasant than many fully sealed synthetic coats.

PU is a synthetic material and is not biodegradable. LangerChen uses it very specifically as a functional intermediate layer. The coat is otherwise made of organic materials and designed to be worn season after season.

Water-repellent, but not fully waterproof

The fabric has a water column of 8,000 mm and can handle a light to normal rain shower well. However, the seams are not taped. In prolonged heavy rain, moisture may eventually seep in through the seams.

RISANA NIGHT is therefore a wool winter coat with good protection against unpredictable weather, but not a fully waterproof raincoat. For a bike ride through a regular shower: perfect. For three hours outside in a downpour: you might want to make other plans.

Comfortable on the bike

The YKK zipper can also be opened from the bottom. This gives your legs more room while cycling while the top of the coat remains closed.

The hood and high collar protect your neck and head from wind and light rain. The pockets blend seamlessly into the seams, and there is a closable zippered pocket on the inside for your valuables.

Fit and sizing advice

RISANA has a feminine and fairly fitted cut. I wear a size L in this model and usually wear a size 40/42. The coat fits me nicely, but quite snugly. Because I have somewhat wider hips, I notice in particular that the model is not overly roomy there.

Our advice for all RISANA models is therefore: choose your usual size in principle. Do you have wider hips, do you want room for a thick sweater, or are you in doubt between two sizes? It is better to go one size up.

Care for RISANA NIGHT

Air the coat out regularly and wash it as little as possible. Remove dry dirt carefully with a soft clothing brush and treat small stains locally with a slightly damp cloth.

Let a wet coat dry on a wide hanger at room temperature and never place it on a radiator. For a full clean, always follow the care label and avoid fabric softener, bleach, and aggressive stain removers.
