LANGERCHEN MILPORT BURGUNDY long wool women's coat
MILPORT BURGUNDY is a long wool women's coat in a warm, deep color between brown and wine red. It is neither a bright red nor a standard dark brown, but a rich, mottled shade that pairs beautifully with denim, black, dark blue, beige, and a variety of autumn colors.
Hidden beneath that elegant wool exterior is a surprisingly technical coat. MILPORT is windproof, breathable, and water-repellent; it features an adjustable hood and is comfortable for cycling thanks to the two-way zipper. All the benefits of a functional outdoor coat, then, but without the feeling that you’ve accidentally joined an organized hiking trip.

What kind of color is BURGUNDY?
BURGUNDY is often described as burgundy red, but on this wool MILPORT, the color is distinctly calmer and browner. The mottled wool gives the coat a warm, deep appearance that leans slightly more toward brown or wine red depending on the light.
This makes BURGUNDY more striking than navy blue or gray, yet still very easy to combine. A lovely color for those who want something different, but don't want to spend the entire winter looking like a walking traffic light.
Wool on the outside, soft cotton on the inside
The outer layer of MILPORT is made of organic wool. Wool retains heat, breathes, and can absorb moisture without feeling clammy. The inside is lined with soft jersey made of 100% organic cotton. Not a slippery, sweaty synthetic lining, but a natural inner layer that feels comfortable.
Between the wool and the cotton lining is a very thin polyurethane membrane. This blocks cold wind, provides protection against rain, and gives the wool fabric extra stability. As a result, the long coat maintains its shape better, even when you wear it frequently or hop on your bike regularly.
Is MILPORT BURGUNDY rain-resistant?
Yes, this coat can easily handle a standard rain shower. The wool exterior, water-repellent finish, and membrane work together to ensure that raindrops do not soak through the fabric immediately.
However, MILPORT is not a fully waterproof raincoat. The seams are not taped, which means that during a prolonged downpour, moisture can eventually seep in through the stitching. It is very suitable for daily use and a normal Dutch rain shower. For a three-hour hike in a torrential downpour, we would recommend wearing something else.
A long coat you can actually cycle in
The YKK zipper can be opened from both the top and the bottom. On your bike, you can unzip the bottom part of the coat, giving your legs enough room to move while your upper body remains protected from wind and cold.
The inset pockets blend beautifully into the panel seams, and the hidden snap buttons keep the front looking clean. Small ventilation eyelets are located under the arms to help dissipate excess heat—useful when you intended to cycle calmly to work, but the local headwind had a different training plan in mind.
Fit and sizing advice
MILPORT has a long, feminine shape with panel seams that allow the coat to drape nicely along the body. When choosing your size, take into account the clothing you plan to wear underneath. If you want to wear a thick sweater under the coat in winter, check that you have enough room around your chest, shoulders, and upper arms. I am wearing a size L in the photo.

How to keep your MILPORT BURGUNDY looking good
Wash the coat as little as possible. Wool usually benefits greatly from airing out, and dry dirt can be carefully removed with a soft clothing brush. Treat small stains locally with a clean, slightly damp cloth.
Has the coat gotten wet? Hang it on a wide hanger and let it dry slowly at room temperature. You can hang the coat inside out for a while if necessary, but never place it against a heater.
If a full cleaning is necessary, always follow the wash label. Do not use fabric softener, bleach, or aggressive stain removers, as these can damage the wool, the membrane, and the water-repellent finish.
