Welcome to the world of our thick wool socks! And when I say wool, I mean 100% wool... So, no synthetic additives that only make your feet smell. We only have wool socks, made from 100% pure and organic wool. These beautiful socks are the thickest wool socks we have. And three cheers for these beautiful colored ones: We now also have these colored thick socks for lovers of thick wool socks and patterns. How thick are these socks exactly? Think of old-fashioned wool socks, that thickness, and you're pretty much there. I don't wear them in my shoes myself, but in bed. However, there are plenty of people who do... Personally, I find them more suitable for wearing in boots or clogs :-) Unless you buy your winter shoes with plenty of room. In my sneakers, for example, they do fit. But, if you are really looking for socks to wear in shoes, I would sooner go for the Norwegian socks. Fair is fair.

So if you are doubting between 2 sizes, we definitely recommend choosing the smaller size. Example: do you wear size 39/40? Then choose size 38/39. Do you wear size 40/42, choose 40/41. Wool socks often become slightly looser when you wear them. It is annoying if wool socks start to "bunch up" because they are too loose. If in doubt, you are always welcome to contact us.

You don't have to wash pure and 100% wool socks.

Wool has the fantastic property of being self-cleaning,
so hang them out for a night and you can simply put them on again the next day! That sounds like magic? It isn't... It is simply one of the beautiful properties that wool possesses.

Do you want to know exactly how this "no washing" thing works? We made a beautiful and informative vlog in which this is explained. You can find it here. Do you still want to wash them? Then ALWAYS do so on a wool wash cycle with a wool detergent containing lanolin. Wool shrinks due to temperature fluctuations, not heat. A wool wash cycle maintains the same temperature throughout, making the chance of shrinkage very small. Wash on a low temperature and with the lowest possible spin speed.

Pure wool socks wear out!

Yours too: There is absolutely nothing you can do about that... And it can happen faster than you think. The fact that pure wool socks wear out is because our socks, unlike 99% of all other "wool socks" sold, really contain no synthetic yarns. This makes the wool much more vulnerable to wear and tear. We therefore recommend that you alternate your socks regularly and purchase multiple pairs. Always wear them in well-fitting shoes where your feet don't "slide." That significantly accelerates the wear process. For some it's after just a few days, and others can last for winters. Fortunately, wool socks are easy to darn; in our webshop you will find darning wool, darning needles, darning eggs, and wooden darning mushrooms. Check your socks after every wear to see if they have become thin. Typical places are at the toes, under the ball of your foot, or at the heels. Do this in time so that the pure wool socks do not start to unravel.
