What makes the LANIUS BENTE so special?
The wrap! It gives BENTE the feminine look of a wrap blouse, but without the hassle of ribbons, buttons, or a blouse that slowly loses its shape throughout the day. The front panels overlap perfectly and naturally form that beautiful V-neckline.
There is a wider hem at the bottom, which helps the blouse stay neatly on the hips while allowing the top section to drape slightly looser. The result is feminine and tailored, yet absolutely not stiff. That is exactly why we love it so much.
Is BENTE a blouse or a wool sweater?
It’s actually a wonderful blend of both. The material and comfort are reminiscent of a thin merino wool sweater, while the wrap design and V-neck have much more of a blouse-like aesthetic.
This makes BENTE perfect for occasions where a chunky knit sweater is just a bit too casual. Wear it to work, out for dinner, to a party, or just on a regular day when you want to look great with minimal effort.
Why is 100% merino wool so great to wear directly on the skin?
BENTE is made of 100% organic merino wool. Merino wool consists of fine wool fibers, which makes it feel much smoother than the coarse wool you might associate with old-fashioned wool sweaters.
But our favorite part is what wool actually does for you. Wool is naturally temperature-regulating and breathable. It helps keep you warm when you need it while simultaneously wicking away moisture without feeling clammy.
That’s why we love this type of thin wool garment: you don’t need a heavy layer to enjoy the benefits of wool.
Which color BENTE will you choose: VIOLET or EMERALD?
Ah. A tough choice.
VIOLET is a deep purple-blue hue that combines beautifully with dark blue, denim, gray, black, camel, and brown. A bold color, but one that remains surprisingly chic.
EMERALD is that fantastic, bright green. Fresh, powerful, and so lovely when your wardrobe needs a pop of color. Pair it with gray like in the photos, but also try dark blue, denim, black, or a warm brown shade.
In our opinion, these are exactly the colors that instantly turn a simple pair of trousers into a complete outfit.
How do you style a wool wrap blouse?
BENTE really doesn't need much. Pair it with nice wide-leg trousers or jeans and you're done. Thanks to the V-neck, it also looks lovely with a camisole underneath. Let a little bit of lace trim peek out for an extra layer in your outfit.
And yes... we definitely have to mention our LANIUS JILL wool camisoles with lace. That combination is a match made in heaven: pure merino wool over pure merino wool, with just that little touch of lace peeking out from the V-neck.
Can you wear BENTE all year round?
For a large part of the year: absolutely. Precisely because this women's merino wool blouse is so fine and supple, it isn't a typical heavy winter sweater.
Wear it as a warm layer in the autumn and winter, as a top in the spring, and it’s also lovely for a cool summer evening. Wool adapts much better to different temperatures than many people realize.
Do you need to wash a merino wool blouse often?
No – and we'd prefer you didn't. Wool has natural properties that prevent it from retaining odors. Simply hang BENTE out to air after wearing it. Often, that is enough to freshen it up again.
Does it need to be washed? Always follow the care label and handle the wool with care. Use a suitable wool wash program and a special wool detergent. We use LANALICIOUS wool detergent with lanolin. Do not tumble dry, and after washing, carefully reshape and let it dry flat.
Can merino wool pill?
Yes, even high-quality natural wool can develop small fuzz or pills due to friction. This doesn't mean the wool is of poor quality; it is a characteristic of natural material. Areas where a bag, coat, or arm regularly rubs against the fabric are particularly susceptible.
Do you notice some fuzz? You can carefully remove it with our Gleener fabric shaver to keep your wool garments looking new for much longer.
Why choose the LANIUS BENTE?
Because it's the kind of garment that gives you the best of both worlds. The elegance of a feminine wrap blouse and the comfort of 100% organic merino wool.
No complicated outfit needed. Nice trousers, BENTE on top, and you’re ready to go. Now you just have to choose between that stunning VIOLET and the fresh EMERALD... good luck with that. We think they’re both amazing.
