What makes the LANIUS BENTE so special?
The wrap! It gives BENTE the feminine look of a wrap blouse, without the hassle of dealing with bows, buttons, or a garment that slowly slips out of place all day. The front panels overlap beautifully and naturally form that stunning V-neckline.
There is a wider band at the bottom, which keeps the blouse sitting nicely on the hips while allowing the upper section to drape a bit more loosely. The result is feminine and dressy, but absolutely not stiff. That is exactly what we love about it.
Is BENTE a blouse or a wool sweater?
It actually sits comfortably in between. The material and comfort are reminiscent of a thin merino wool sweater, while the wrap design and V-neck have much more of the appearance of a blouse.
This means you can wear BENTE on occasions where a chunky knit sweater would be just too casual. To work, out to dinner, a party, or just on a weekday when you want to look great with minimal effort.
Why is 100% merino wool so nice to wear directly against the skin?
BENTE is made of 100% organic merino wool. Merino wool consists of fine wool fibers, making it feel much smoother than the coarse wool you might associate with an old-fashioned wool sweater.
But what we love most is what wool does for you. Wool is naturally temperature-regulating and breathable. It helps keep you warm when you need warmth and can simultaneously absorb moisture without feeling clammy.
That is why we love this type of thin wool garment: you don't need a thick layer to benefit from the properties of wool.
Which BENTE color will you choose: VIOLET or EMERALD?
Oh, a tough one.
VIOLET is a deep purple-blue hue that combines beautifully with dark blue, denim, gray, black, camel, and brown. A bold color, but one that remains surprisingly chic.
EMERALD is that fantastic, vivid green. Fresh, powerful, and so lovely when your wardrobe could use a bit of color. Combine it with gray as shown in the photos, but also try dark blue, denim, black, or a warm shade of brown.
As far as we are concerned, these are the exact colors that make simple trousers look like a complete outfit.
How do you style a wool wrap blouse?
BENTE really doesn't need much. Pair it with nice wide-leg trousers or jeans and you're done. Because of the V-neck, it also looks beautiful with a camisole underneath. Let a little bit of lace trim show, for instance, and you immediately add an extra layer to your outfit.
And yes... we definitely have to mention our LANIUS JILL wool camisoles with lace here. That combination is practically meant to be: pure merino wool over pure merino wool, with just that little touch of lace peeking out of the V-neck.
Can you wear BENTE all year round?
For a large part of the year: absolutely. Precisely because this merino wool women's blouse is so fine and supple, it is not a typical heavy winter sweater.
Wear it in the autumn and winter as a warm layer, in the spring simply as a top, and on a cool summer evening, such a thin wool blouse is also delightful. Wool adapts much better to different temperatures than many people realize.
Do you need to wash a merino wool blouse often?
No – and we'd prefer you didn't. Wool has natural properties that make it resistant to odors. Hang BENTE out for a while after wearing it. Often, that is enough to freshen it up.
Does it need to be washed? Always follow the care label and treat wool with care. Use a suitable wool wash cycle and a special wool detergent. We use LANALICIOUS wool detergent with lanolin for this. Do not put it in the dryer; after washing, gently reshape it and let it dry flat.
Can merino wool pill?
Yes, even high-quality natural wool can develop small fuzz or pills due to friction. This does not mean the wool is of poor quality; it is characteristic of natural material. Areas where a bag, coat, or arm frequently rubs against the fabric are particularly prone to this.
Do pills appear? You can carefully remove them with our Gleener fabric shaver, and your wool clothing will look beautiful for much longer.
Why choose the LANIUS BENTE?
Because this is the kind of garment that gives you the best of both worlds. The elegance of a feminine wrap blouse and the comfort of 100% organic merino wool.
No complicated outfit needed. Nice trousers, throw on BENTE, and you're set. And then you just have to choose between that stunning VIOLET and fresh EMERALD... good luck with that. We think they’re both amazing.
