Fit & sizing advice (important!)

Hirsch Natur wool socks run large. They fit like the smallest size on the label. Are you between two sizes? Always choose the smaller size. For example, if you normally wear a size 39 or 40, we recommend size 38/39. A good fit is essential to limit wear and tear and maintain comfort.

You don't need to wash wool socks

Yes, really. Wool is self-cleaning. Often, it is enough to let your socks air out overnight after wearing them. Hang them up and you can wear them again the next day.

An honest story about wear and tear

These socks are 100% wool. That means maximum comfort, but also: wool wears out faster than socks with synthetic fibers. Especially if you wear them as house socks without shoes or slippers. So, always wear them with slippers or well-fitting shoes.

Unfortunately, holes cannot be completely prevented. It happens faster for some people than for others. That depends on how you walk, how often you wear them, and whether they fit well. Do you see the fabric getting thinner? That is the moment to stop. With darning wool, it's not difficult at all and actually quite fun to do.

Also note: wool socks can be slippery. So be careful on stairs.

Washing, if it really must be done

Do they need to be washed? Wash as little as possible and always use a wool detergent with lanolin, such as Lanalicious. Lanolin nourishes the wool and helps keep the fibers supple and strong.

Wash on a wool cycle, use a small amount of detergent, do not overload the machine, and let the socks dry flat.
