Size advice: they run large

Important to know: the wool socks from Hirsch Natur run large. They fit like the smallest size on the label. Are you doubting between two sizes? Then definitely choose the smaller size. For example, if you normally wear size 39 or 40, we recommend size 38/39. That way, they fit snugly and do their job best.

100% wool also means: being honest about wear and tear

These socks are made of 100% wool. That means maximum comfort, but also that they may wear out faster than socks with synthetic fibers. That is part of it. Do you see the socks getting thinner? Then mend them with darning wool. It's easier than you think and actually quite fun to do.

Please note: these socks are not suitable for wearing as slippers. Combine them with appropriate shoes or real slippers for a longer lifespan. We do not provide a warranty on wear and tear on your wool socks. This can happen faster for one person than for another. If you follow our instructions, you will extend their lifespan. But you can never prevent it. For some, socks wear out within a week, and others can use them for winters on end. Keep this in mind when choosing pure wool socks.

You don't have to wash wool socks

Yes, really. Wool is self-cleaning. Often it is enough to let your socks air out overnight after wearing them. Hang them up and you can wear them again the next day.

Do you want to wash them anyway? Do so as little as possible and always with a wool detergent containing lanolin, such as Lanalicious. Lanolin nourishes the wool and ensures that your socks remain soft, supple and functional. Wash on a wool cycle, use little detergent and let them dry flat.
