Green, dark, calm, and a bit rugged. The Glerups FOREST with a black rubber sole is the kind of slipper that makes us think: yes, this is just right. The high boot design keeps your ankles nice and warm, the natural wool felt breathes, and the black rubber sole provides just a little more grip and freedom than the leather version.
And then there's that FOREST color. A beautiful shade of green that looks wonderfully calm combined with Black. It's for both men and women, by the way, because at Glerups, we don't fuss over who gets to wear which color.
Why choose the Glerups FOREST Rubber Black?
Glerups are made of 100% natural wool felt. We believe wool is a fantastic material, especially for slippers. It insulates, breathes, and can absorb moisture. This gives you wonderfully warm feet without that stuffy feeling you often get with synthetic slippers.
With this high model, the wool felt extends all the way around your ankle. Do you have a cold floor at home, or are you the one who starts complaining about cold feet as early as October? Then this boot model is definitely worth considering.

What color is Glerups FOREST?
FOREST is the green version of this Glerups boot. Together with the black rubber sole, this color has a slightly more rugged look than the versions with the lighter Honey sole.
And as far as we are concerned, green is surprisingly easy to style. Jeans, sweatpants, pajamas… go ahead, for once your slippers don't even have to match the rest of your outfit.
Why is wool so great for cold feet in Glerups?
Wool can trap air and is therefore naturally insulating. But the best part is that wool can also breathe and absorb moisture. Because of this, Glerups aren't just about maximum warmth, but rather about a pleasant climate around your feet.
You can perfectly wear these wool slippers directly on your bare feet. In fact, that's exactly how we love to wear them. If you get cold easily, you can, of course, wear them with a pair of wool socks.
Why choose Glerups with a rubber sole?
The rubber version is especially handy if you expect a bit more from your house shoes. The sole provides grip, handles damp surfaces better than leather, and is therefore practical for when you need to step outside quickly.
Think of the garden, the balcony, the shed, or quickly grabbing the mail. The rubber sole is also non-marking, so it won't leave black streaks on your floor.

Glerups Rubber Black or Honey: what is the difference?
At Natur-el, we have Glerups with a rubber sole in two versions: Black and Honey. The main difference is in the aesthetic. Black is dark and a bit more rugged; Honey is lighter and more natural in color.
In terms of use, they offer the same major advantage: more grip and better resistance to damp surfaces compared to the leather sole. You can simply apply this very complex selection method: which one do I like best?
Can you wear Glerups with a rubber sole outside?
Yes, for short trips. The rubber sole can be used on damp surfaces. So, you don't have to take your Glerups off just because you need to go to the shed, the garden, or the mailbox.
However, they are still house shoes. Glerups are not made to replace your regular outdoor shoes or hiking boots. We recommend saving a round around the neighborhood or a long walk for other footwear.
Which Glerups size should I choose?
Glerups sizing corresponds fairly well with regular European shoe sizes. Glerups themselves recommend rounding up for half sizes: for example, if you are a size 40.5, choose size 41.
Based on our years of experience fitting them in the store, we would like to add something to that. A Glerups shouldn't be unnecessarily loose. The wool felt molds to your foot while wearing and can stretch slightly. If your foot moves too much inside the slipper, it creates extra friction, which can lead to faster wear and tear.
Are you between two sizes? Then definitely look at your measured foot length in the table below. For wide feet, a roomier size can, of course, be more comfortable.

Will Glerups shed lint?
New Glerups may shed some loose wool fibers or lint at the beginning. This is normal for natural wool felt and will decrease automatically as you wear them.
Prefer not to pull loose fibers out of the felt. The material will continue to mold to your foot during wear, and the initial lint will disappear on its own.
How do you maintain Glerups wool slippers?
Fortunately, you don't usually have to do much with wool. With normal use, regular airing out is often enough. Place your Glerups in a dry, well-ventilated spot every now and then.
Have they become really dirty? Treat the wool felt carefully according to the Glerups maintenance instructions. In any case, don't just thoughtlessly throw them in with your regular laundry.

Frequently asked questions about Glerups FOREST Rubber Black
Are Glerups FOREST for women or men?
For both. The Glerups boot model is unisex and is chosen based on size, color, and design.
What does Rubber Black mean for Glerups?
Rubber Black means that these Glerups have a black rubber sole. This provides grip, handles moisture better than a leather sole, and does not leave streaks on the floor.
Are these Glerups suitable for cold feet?
Yes. Wool is naturally insulating, and with the high boot model, the wool felt extends around your ankle as well. This makes it a great version if you tend to have cold feet and ankles.
Can you wear Glerups if you have sweaty feet?
Wool is breathable and moisture-wicking. Therefore, wool slippers often feel less stuffy or clammy than slippers made primarily of synthetic materials.
Can I wear Glerups FOREST barefoot?
Yes. Glerups can be worn very comfortably directly against the bare foot. If you tend to have cold feet, you can, of course, combine them with wool socks.
Do Glerups run large or small?
Glerups run fairly true to regular shoe sizes. The wool felt molds to your foot during wear and may stretch slightly. Therefore, do not buy them unnecessarily large, and when in doubt, use your measured foot length and the size chart.
Can I wear Glerups Rubber Black outside?
For short trips, yes. The rubber sole can handle damp surfaces and provides grip. However, Glerups remain house shoes and are not intended as regular outdoor or hiking shoes.
What is the difference between Glerups with leather and rubber soles?
The leather sole is flexible and is mainly intended for indoor use. The rubber sole provides more grip and handles damp surfaces better. Are you in doubt about which version suits you? Check out our Glerups buying guide.
