All about this product

This is one of those Glerups you don't really have to think about. Charcoal wool felt, a black rubber sole, and a high boot style that keeps your ankles nice and warm, too. Calm, rugged, and above all, incredibly practical. The Glerups Charcoal Rubber Black is made of 100% natural wool felt and is the kind of slipper that appears on your feet sometime in October and then suspiciously stays there quite often.

We have been Glerups fans ourselves for years, and by now they have earned a fairly permanent spot at Natur-el. For both women and men, with leather or rubber soles, and in many different colors. Because once we get enthusiastic about something, it usually gets a little out of hand ;-).

What makes the Glerups Charcoal with black rubber sole special?

With this version, you get the best of both worlds: the soft and warm feeling of 100% wool felt with a sturdy rubber sole underneath. The high model also encloses your ankle, making this a wonderful Glerups if you suffer from cold feet.

The Charcoal color is a dark, heathered gray tone. Combined with the black sole, this boot has a calm, rugged look. And the great thing about such a color: you don't have to panic over every little speck of dust on your slippers. That's worth something too.

Why wool for slippers?

Because wool actually does exactly what you want for your feet. It insulates against the cold, but does not completely seal your feet off. Moreover, wool can absorb moisture and helps regulate the temperature around your feet.

That is also the big difference with many synthetic slippers. They might feel wonderfully warm at first, but can then become quite clammy. Wool provides warmth and is still able to breathe.

That is why you can also comfortably wear Glerups without socks. Do you want them as warm as possible? Then combine them with a pair of wool socks. Then we have arrived at the highest level of warm-foot luxury.

What does Rubber Black mean for Glerups?

Rubber Black means that these Glerups are equipped with the black rubber sole. It provides more grip than the leather sole and handles damp surfaces better. This makes it a practical choice if you regularly step out into the garden, onto the balcony, or into the shed at home.

The black rubber sole is also non-marking and therefore does not leave streaks on your floor.

Glerups also makes the rubber sole in the lighter color Honey. In terms of usage, both versions are similar; the difference is mainly in the appearance. Black is darker and more rugged; Honey is a bit softer and more natural.

Can you go outside in Glerups Rubber Black?

For a short distance: yes. The rubber sole provides grip and can handle a damp surface. Fetching the mail, getting something from the car, or taking out the trash bin is perfectly fine.

However, Glerups remain house shoes and slippers. The wool upper and the construction are not intended as regular outdoor shoes. So, for a walk in the rain, we would really advise wearing different shoes.

Which Glerups size should I choose?

We at Natur-el have become a little stubborn about this. Glerups themselves state that the sizes correspond reasonably well to normal shoe sizes and advise rounding up for half sizes. If you are a size 40.5, that would mean a size 41.

Our experience after having many people try on Glerups in the store is that they should especially not be too loose. When your foot constantly slides around in a slipper that is too big, extra friction is created. And extra friction can lead to faster wear and tear.

Therefore, when in doubt, we would not blindly choose a size larger. It is better to measure your foot and use the size chart below. If you have a wide foot, some extra room can of course be pleasant.

Which Glerups sizes does Natur-el have in stock?

Our regular Glerups collection normally runs from size 37 to 45. Do you need a size outside that range? Then we can see if we can order it especially for you.

Please note: sizes outside our regular stock that are ordered specifically for you cannot be exchanged. Therefore, when in doubt, check the size chart, contact us, or—if you live nearby—just come by to try them on.

How should a Glerups slipper fit?

Comfortable, but not overly spacious. The wool felt molds more and more to your foot while wearing and can therefore become slightly roomier. So don't buy them intentionally large with the idea that it feels more comfortable.

Your toes should of course have enough room, and for wide feet, a more spacious size can be pleasant. But your foot should not constantly slide back and forth in the slipper.

Precisely because we have so many Glerups in the store, we can help you well with the size if you are in doubt. Sometimes one size makes a real difference.

Do Glerups wool slippers pill?

Yes, especially when they are new, some loose wool fibers and pilling can occur. That is normal with natural wool felt and will decrease on its own as you wear the Glerups longer.

Do not fanatically pull loose fibers out of the felt. Just enjoy wearing them and let the material do its work.

How do you maintain Glerups wool slippers?

The great answer: mainly don't do too much. Wool needs to be cleaned much less often than many people think. Good ventilation is usually sufficient with normal use.

Regularly put your Glerups in a dry, well-ventilated place. If they have become truly dirty, treat the wool felt carefully according to Glerups' maintenance instructions.

What is better: Glerups with a rubber or leather sole?

That depends entirely on what you use them for. Do you use your Glerups exclusively indoors and want a house slipper that is as flexible as possible? Then the leather sole is wonderful.

Do you want more grip, do you regularly step outside, or do you want a sole that can handle a damp surface better? Then choose rubber.

Are Glerups suitable for sweaty feet?

Wool is breathable and can absorb moisture. As a result, wool slippers often feel less clammy than slippers made primarily of synthetic materials.

Do Glerups run large or small?

The sizing corresponds reasonably well to normal European shoe sizes. Glerups advises rounding up for half sizes. Our experience is that the slippers should especially not be too loose. Therefore, use your measured foot length and the size chart when in doubt.

Do Glerups stretch out?

The wool felt molds to your foot while wearing and can therefore become slightly roomier. So do not intentionally buy them much too large.

Does the black rubber sole leave marks?

No. The Black rubber sole of these Glerups is non-marking and does not leave streaks on the floor.

Can I go outside in these Glerups?

Wol is fantastisch

Door de natuurlijke eigenschappen blijft wol vaak langer fris, waardoor je het minder vaak hoeft te wassen. Ook is wol sterk, veerkrachtig en gaat het bij goed onderhoud jarenlang mee. Het is dus niet alleen fijn om te dragen, maar ook een mooie, duurzame keuze.

Was koud of lauw

Was wol altijd voorzichtig koud of op maximaal 30 graden, ALTIJD met een wolwasprogramma. Wol krimpt bij temperatuurswisselingen, deze heb je niet bij een wolwasprogramma. Let op, wolwas programma is en essentie anders dan het handwasprogramma!

Gebruik wolwasmiddel

Kies altijd een mild wolwasmiddel en vermijd gewone wasmiddelen, omdat die de wolvezel kunnen beschadigen.

Niet wringen of slepen

Behandel wol rustig, laat het niet zwaar uithangen als het nat is. Wring de wol nooit uit. Druk het water er voorzichtig uit en laat het kledingstuk plat drogen op een handdoek.

Luchten is het beste!

In principe volstaat luchten ook. Was alleen als het echt nodig is!
