For everyone who wants warm feet but prefers not to wear a "prim" slipper: take a look at these. The Glerups Denim with black rubber sole is, in our opinion, one of the cooler versions in the collection. Beautiful heathered blue wool felt, a black sole underneath, and that high-cut style ensures your ankles stay nice and warm too.

And beneath that beautiful exterior lies exactly why we have been fans of Glerups for so long. This bootie is made of 100% natural wool felt. Wool is insulating, breathable, and can absorb moisture. This gives you warm feet without trapping them in a synthetic, sweaty slipper. The black rubber sole provides extra grip, does not leave marks on your floor, and is practical if you need to step outside for a moment.

This is effectively the version for people who want the comfort of a wool house slipper but prefer something a bit sturdier under their feet. The rubber sole makes the Glerups just a bit more practical than the version with a leather sole.

What color is Glerups Denim?

Denim is a heathered blue tone that—as the name suggests—is reminiscent of denim and jean fabric. Because of the natural wool felt, the color is not completely uniform, and it is precisely that which gives these Glerups such a beautiful appearance.

This version features a black rubber sole underneath. This makes them look just a bit tougher than the same Glerups with the natural Honey sole. Functionally, both rubber versions are primarily intended to provide you with more grip and a bit more freedom than a leather sole.

Why are 100% wool Glerups so nice on your feet?

A good slipper should, of course, be warm. But if your feet feel clammy after half an hour, that doesn't really help you much.

And that is exactly why we think wool is such a fantastic material for slippers. Wool insulates but can simultaneously breathe and absorb moisture. Your feet stay nice and warm without that trapped feeling you get from many synthetic slippers.

You can therefore wear Glerups perfectly well barefoot. Do you want maximum warmth? Then put on a pair of wool socks inside them. Wool on wool. Even our biggest "cold-feet" sufferers can get along with that.

What is the difference between the Glerups black rubber and Honey sole?

With the Glerups with rubber sole, you can choose between, among others, Black and Honey. The main difference is the appearance. Black is dark and a bit tougher, while Honey has a lighter, natural color.

Both rubber soles provide grip and are more practical on damp surfaces than the leather version. And importantly for indoors: the rubber sole does not leave marks on your floor.

Which one to choose? For once, you can simply choose whichever one you find more attractive.

Can you walk outside in Glerups with a rubber sole?

Yes, for short distances that works fine. A quick trip to the mailbox, into the garden, fetching something from the shed, or putting out the trash can doesn't have to be a complicated shoe change with this rubber sole.

The rubber sole handles damp surfaces better than leather and also provides more grip. However, Glerups remain first and foremost house shoes. So don't suddenly go for an enthusiastic ten-kilometer forest hike in them. That is not what they are intended for.

Which Glerups size should I choose?

And we want to dwell on this for a moment, because the right size is really important with Glerups.

Glerups itself recommends rounding up for a half shoe size. For example, if you have size 40.5, according to that advice, you would choose size 41.

Our experience in the shop is a bit more nuanced. We especially feel that Glerups should not be too roomy. When your foot moves too much in the slipper, it creates extra friction, which can actually cause faster wear. If you are between two sizes, we therefore do not automatically advise taking the largest one.

Our advice? In case of doubt, use your foot length and the size chart below. And if you live near Rotterdam, please come in to try them on. Then we can look together at how they actually fit your foot.

Which Glerups sizes does Natur-el have in stock?

We normally have Glerups in stock from size 37 to 45. Do you need a different size? Then we can check if we can order it specially for you.

Please note: sizes outside our regular stock that are specially ordered for you cannot be exchanged. Therefore, measure your foot carefully and contact us in advance if in doubt. We will be happy to help you with the size.

Should Glerups fit tightly or loosely?

They absolutely do not need to squeeze your foot, but we wouldn't buy them intentionally much too large either. The wool felt will conform to your foot while wearing and can become slightly roomier.

Your heel may have some natural room for movement while walking, but your foot should not be constantly sliding back and forth in the slipper. A good fit is not only more comfortable but also helps limit unnecessary friction and wear.

Can I wear Glerups without socks?

We highly recommend it. Wool can absorb moisture and is breathable, which is exactly why Glerups are incredibly pleasant to wear directly against your bare feet.

But of course, there is no Glerups police. Do you always have cold feet and want to wear thick wool socks inside them? By all means, do so. That might just be the ultimate winter combination.

Do Glerups wool slippers pill?

With new Glerups, some loose wool fibers and lint may appear at first. That is part of the natural wool felt and does not mean there is anything wrong with your slippers.

Over time, this will decrease on its own. It is better not to enthusiastically pull loose fibers out of the felt; just let the material do its work.

How do you maintain and clean Glerups?

Fortunately, you don't have to wash wool slippers constantly. Wool has natural properties, meaning regular airing is often sufficient.

Place your Glerups in a dry, well-ventilated place every now and then. Have they become truly dirty? Treat the wool felt carefully according to Glerups' maintenance instructions and keep the rubber sole in mind.

And no: don't just mindlessly toss them in with your regular laundry. Wool slippers like that about as much as we like polyester socks.

Glerups with rubber or leather sole: which is better?

Neither is inherently better. It depends on what you want to do with them.

The leather sole is thin, flexible, and wonderful when you only wear your Glerups indoors. The rubber sole provides more grip, handles moisture better, and is more practical if you regularly step outside for a moment.

Yes. Wool is naturally insulating, and with this high boot model, the ankle is also enclosed by wool felt. This makes this model very nice for people who quickly suffer from cold feet and ankles.

Can I wear Glerups with bare feet?

Yes. Wool is breathable and can absorb moisture, which is why Glerups are very pleasant to wear directly against the skin. Wearing them with wool socks is, of course, also an option.

Was koud of lauw

Was wol altijd voorzichtig koud of op maximaal 30 graden, ALTIJD met een wolwasprogramma. Wol krimpt bij temperatuurswisselingen, deze heb je niet bij een wolwasprogramma. Let op, wolwas programma is en essentie anders dan het handwasprogramma!

Gebruik wolwasmiddel

Kies altijd een mild wolwasmiddel en vermijd gewone wasmiddelen, omdat die de wolvezel kunnen beschadigen.

Niet wringen of slepen

Behandel wol rustig, laat het niet zwaar uithangen als het nat is. Wring de wol nooit uit. Druk het water er voorzichtig uit en laat het kledingstuk plat drogen op een handdoek.

Luchten is het beste!

In principe volstaat luchten ook. Was alleen als het echt nodig is!
