GIVN high-waisted BEA ANTHRACITE trousers in organic cotton flannel

Ooh, what a discovery these GIVN trousers are! Seriously: in my entire sustainable fashion career, I have never worn such soft trousers. The GIVN BEA ANTHRACITE is made from 100% organic cotton flannel and is GOTS-certified. The fabric is brushed, making it feel almost like soft fleece—but with much more style.

ANTHRACITE is a very dark shade of grey that looks almost black. This makes it probably the most versatile color of the bunch: it can be dressed up, edgy, or casual and truly goes with everything. We have BEA in three colors: ANTHRACITE, BROWN, and BLUE.

The fit is great: a nice high waist with an elastic section in the back of the waistband. This allows the trousers to fit nicely without feeling tight anywhere. I wear a size L myself with a standard dress size 40, and it fits like a glove.

The fabric gives a little while worn. After washing, it returns to its original fit. So that doesn't mean you've suddenly chosen the wrong size; BEA has just moved with you throughout the day.

How to style BEA ANTHRACITE

  • Edgy with a tucked-in blouse and sturdy shoes
  • Chic with a fitted turtleneck and ankle boots
  • Casual with a chunky wool sweater and sneakers
  • Monochrome with black and grey, or with a nice bright color

Fit and size chart

BEA has a high waist and wide legs. The elastic section at the back ensures a comfortable fit around the waist. The measurements below are taken from the trousers laid flat. The waist width and hem width are therefore half-circumferences.

Are you between two sizes? Compare the waist width with a pair of trousers that fits well when laid flat. Keep in mind that BEA becomes slightly roomier while being worn.

Washing instructions for cotton flannel

Wash the trousers inside out at a maximum of 30 degrees with a mild detergent and do not tumble dry. The fabric may look a bit flatter after washing. With the Gleener fabric shaver, you can make the fabric soft and fluffy again in no time.

Biologisch katoen is bijzonder

En dit is waarom:

Biologisch katoen is een van de zachtste en meest huidvriendelijke materialen die er zijn. Het ademt goed, voelt vertrouwd aan en is makkelijk te wassen. Doordat het geteeld wordt zonder synthetische pesticiden of kunstmest, is het ook eerlijker voor de bodem en voor de mensen die het verbouwen. Biologisch katoen bevat minder chemische resten dan gewoon katoen, wat het extra fijn maakt voor mensen met een gevoelige huid — en zeker voor baby's en kinderen. Het is een materiaal dat je gewoon goed voelt: op je huid, en in je hoofd.

Wassen op lage temperatuur

Was biologisch katoen op maximaal 30 of 40 graden in de machine. Gebruik een fijnwasprogramma voor een langere levensduur.

Wasmiddel

Gebruik een mild, bij voorkeur biologisch wasmiddel. Vermijd bleekmiddel, dat tast de vezels aan.

Drogen

Haal je kleding DIRECT uit de wasmachine om wasstrepen te voorkomen. Laat het kledingstuk bij voorkeur aan de lucht drogen. Vermijd drogen in de droger, dat doet meer slecht dan goed voor je textielvezel.

Extra verzorging

Katoen is makkelijk te strijken op een middelhoge temperatuur. Was niet vaker dan nodig, luchten is vaak genoeg!
