ENGEL wool-silk leggings for women in MALLOW
These ENGEL Natur wool-silk leggings in MALLOW are a wonderfully thin layer for days when your legs could use a little extra warmth. You can wear them under a dress or skirt, under regular trousers when it is really cold, or together with a wool-silk shirt as soft pajamas. The leggings fit nicely and are thin enough to easily disappear under your everyday clothing.
The fabric consists of 70% organic wool and 30% silk. The wool helps to retain your body heat and can absorb moisture without immediately feeling clammy. The silk makes the fabric smoother, more supple, and lighter. Together, they form a fine, jersey-like quality that moves pleasantly with you and can be worn directly on the skin.

A wool base layer that doesn't feel bulky
These leggings are primarily intended as base layer clothing. The fabric is not as thick or sturdy as that of regular trousers or sports leggings, but is instead fine enough to wear under other clothing without much extra volume. Under jeans, hiking trousers, or wide-leg pants, you will hardly notice that you are wearing an extra layer. What you will notice is that your legs stay much more comfortable.
Under a dress or skirt, you can also wear the leggings visibly. Just keep in mind that this remains a fine underwear quality. If you want to wear them as your only pair of pants, pairing them with a long shirt, tunic, or dress is the most logical choice.
Wool-silk generally feels lighter, smoother, and softer than 100% wool. This makes these leggings very suitable for daily use and for those who find thick woolen underwear too warm. If you are looking for maximum warmth for spending long periods outside or in very cold conditions, a thicker quality of 100% wool usually provides more warmth.
MALLOW: a warm color for underneath and on top
MALLOW is a deep red-pink shade with the character of a berry color. A bit more cheerful than gray or black, but dark enough to combine easily. Under trousers, you won't see much of it, of course, but under a dress or as part of a pajama set, this color is definitely worth showing off.

Fit and size advice
The ENGEL Natur leggings have a slim, form-fitting cut. The wool-silk fabric is stretchy and moves nicely with you, but it should fit closely to the body. That is actually ideal when you want to wear them under another pair of trousers.
Are you between two sizes or want to avoid the leggings being too tight around your stomach, buttocks, or upper thighs? Then choose the larger size. Vera usually wears a size 40/42 on the bottom and chooses size 42/44 for these leggings. This way, they don't pinch anywhere and the leggings have enough length.

Honest about stretching and wear
Wool and silk are beautiful natural fibers, but they are not indestructible. Due to movement, the fabric can become slightly looser around the knees over time. The addition of silk helps the leggings retain their shape better than some leggings made of 100% wool, but you cannot prevent this entirely. After a day of rest, the fabric often regains some of its original shape.
Friction can also cause wear, especially between the thighs, under tight trousers, and in places where the fabric constantly rubs against a hard seam. If you wear your wool leggings almost daily, it is wise to rotate them. This gives the fibers a chance to rest in between. Do you see a small ladder or thin spot? Repair it immediately; a small hole is a lot easier to mend than one with large ambitions.
How to care for your wool-silk leggings
You do not need to wash the leggings after every wear. Let them air out well after wearing, for example in the bathroom or outside in a sheltered spot. Wool absorbs odors less quickly than many other materials and is often fresh again after a night of airing.
Is washing necessary? Then choose a wool wash program at a maximum of 30 degrees, with a low spin speed and a suitable wool detergent with lanolin. Do not use regular detergent or fabric softener. Heat, excessive agitation, and the wrong detergent can cause wool to shrink or felt.
Do not wring out and do not tumble dry. After washing, carefully pull the leggings back into shape and let them dry flat. If the fabric around the knees has become a bit baggy, a careful wool wash can help bring the fibers back into shape.
