Why baby alpaca is such a game changer

These leg warmers are made of 100% baby alpaca wool. And no, that doesn't mean babies are involved, but that the wool comes from the very first, finest shearing. The result? A fiber that is warmer than regular wool, but lighter, more supple and above all: it doesn't itch. What I often hear in the store is: “Oh… this feels really soft.” And that is true.

Stretchy, comfortable and for everyone

Thanks to the ribbed structure, these leg warmers are wonderfully stretchy. Narrow calves, wider calves, over leggings, tights or even over tight pants: they adjust themselves without pinching. They are about 40 cm long and stay in place, even if you move a lot. Unisex, and also very nice for people who are easily bothered by drafts along their lower legs.

Two tone: subtle but special

This version has two shades that flow beautifully into each other. That gives it just a bit more depth and character than a solid color. You can see that clearly in the photo. Fairly made in Peru

De Colores works together with Fairtrade certified workshops in Arequipa, in the south of Peru. A large part of the production chain remains there, from fiber to final product. The alpacas live in animal-friendly conditions and the makers receive a fair price for their craftsmanship. That’s why. Period.

Washing? Better not

Alpaca wool almost never needs to be washed. Airing it out is usually enough. Do you have to wash it? Then use a special alpaca detergent like Washpaca. That is mild and keeps the fiber looking good. In practice: the less you wash, the longer they stay beautiful.
