The sustainable jacket label “LangerChen” shows that fashion ‘made in China’ does not have to be associated with mass production or poor working conditions. On the contrary: with the goal of establishing environmentally friendly and fair textile production in China, Miranda Chen and Philipp Langer founded the textile manufacturer Jiecco in 2009. Five years later, their passion for fashion and expertise in fabric development laid the foundation for the sustainable fashion label LangerChen.

The LangerChen PRODUCTION TEAM

Today, all LangerChen collections are manufactured in the company’s own production facility, about an hour’s drive from Shanghai - from the fabric to the finished jacket. The GOTS-certified company has specialized in the production of sustainable fashion since its inception and is a pioneer in China with its standards of fair production and good working conditions.

Nearly 100 employees work at LangerChen on the sustainable jacket collections. Fair wages, good working conditions, and a pleasant working atmosphere are of paramount importance to everyone. Jiecco now also produces for other major eco-players.

The German office is located near Munich, while the Chinese team works on the sustainable jacket collection near Shanghai.

Langerchen is committed to treating our planet’s resources with care and leaving the smallest possible ecological footprint. We use organic cotton, eco-wool, Tencel, organic linen, and recycled polyester in our choice of materials.

LangerChen HONESTY and FAIRTRADE

They want to show that the fashion industry can also be fair. LangerChen produces in their own factory in China, knows all employees personally, and pays fair wages. The production site in Jiecco pays attention to good working conditions, trains all employees in ecology, and organizes daily commutes for the staff. LangerChen is a family business with many long-term employees.
