CHESTNUT: warm chestnut brown without becoming old-fashioned
CHESTNUT is a deep, warm chestnut brown color. The heathered yarn contains various shades of brown with small accents of rust, dark gray, and natural tones. This makes the sweater look slightly different from every angle and highlights the texture of the knit beautifully.
This warm brown hue combines easily with denim, dark green, navy blue, sand, cream, and anthracite. Wear it with light jeans for a relaxed combination or with dark trousers when you want to keep the overall look more understated. Soft due to merino and cashmere
TED is made of 95% merino wool and 5% cashmere. The merino wool provides warmth, resilience, and breathability. Wool can absorb moisture and retain body heat without feeling clammy.

How wool feels on the skin is personal. Most people will find this combination comfortable, but are you very sensitive? Then wear TED over a thin shirt made of wool, silk, or cotton. You are, of course, also welcome to come and feel it yourself. We personally consider that a perfectly valid excuse to come and pet our sweaters.
How does the FISHERMAN TED fit?
TED has a regular men's fit and fits true to size. Therefore, in principle, choose the size you usually wear. The sweater follows the body without being tight and provides enough room for a thin shirt or top underneath.
The raglan sleeves start at the neck and run diagonally across the shoulders. This makes the sweater drape well and gives you plenty of freedom of movement. The round neck, sleeves, and bottom are finished with a subtle rolled edge, giving TED its calm, unpretentious Fisherman look.

CHESTNUT or BLUE BARK?
The FISHERMAN TED is available in two heathered colors:

BLUE BARK: deep heathered dark blue with subtle petrol-like color nuances
CHESTNUT is the warmer, earthier version. BLUE BARK looks cooler and darker. The model, material, and fit are otherwise the same. You just have to decide whether your wardrobe needs more brown or blue. That sounds simple, until you see them next to each other.
Mulesing-free merino wool
The merino wool that Fisherman Out of Ireland uses for its sweaters is mulesing-free. Mulesing is a painful procedure where skin around the sheep's hindquarters is removed to prevent problems with fly larvae. This treatment was not applied to the merino wool in this sweater.
Clothing made of natural materials naturally has an impact too. For us, the value of TED lies primarily in the beautiful quality, the timeless design, and the fact that you won't get tired of this sweater after just one winter. With careful wear and care, it can remain a part of your wardrobe for years to come.
What do you do if the sweater starts pilling?
Initially, small tufts or balls can appear on the sweater. This is normal with wool and cashmere. Due to movement and friction, loose fibers come to the surface of the yarn. This may happen more quickly under the arms, along the sides, and in places where a coat or bag rubs against it.
Do not pull or pick at the pills. You will pull new fibers out of the knit and the pilling can start all over again. Instead, use a Gleener fabric shaver. This allows you to remove the loose fibers gently. After a few treatments, the pilling usually decreases on its own.
How to care for TED CHESTNUT
Washing is usually not necessary. Wool is less prone to odors and often freshens up just by letting the sweater air out overnight outside or near an open window. This keeps the fibers looking good for longer and saves water and energy.
Does TED need washing after all? Use a reliable cold wool wash cycle and a small amount of Lanalicious wool detergent. Do not rub, do not wring, and do not put it in the dryer. Gently reshape the damp sweater and let it dry flat on a towel.
