A good pair of corduroy trousers doesn't have to be stiff, stuffy, or look like it came straight out of a 1978 geography class. The WAYNE trousers by KOMODO are made of 100% organic cotton corduroy and feature a modern, wide-leg fit. They are nice and roomy around the legs, comfortable to wear, and yet smart enough not to look like sweatpants.
The deep KHAKI color sits somewhere between olive green and brown and is surprisingly easy to combine. Furthermore, we have the matching KARDA overshirt in the same color in our collection. Together, they make a complete corduroy suit. A pretty good suit, if we do say so ourselves.

Wide, but not shapeless
WAYNE has a roomy, relaxed fit with wide legs. The trousers fall loosely around the thighs and run quite straight down. This gives you plenty of room to move, without them looking like you accidentally bought them three sizes too big.
The waistband has a classic closure with a metal button and zip fly. Thanks to the belt loops, you can adjust the waist with a belt if necessary. The slanted pockets at the front are spacious enough for your hands, phone, or the receipts you won't find until three weeks later.
There are patch pockets on the back. These fit well with the slightly rugged, workwear-like appearance of corduroy and nicely break up the roomy silhouette.
Two styles in one pair of trousers
There is a removable drawstring at the ankles. If you leave it loose, WAYNE falls as a straight, wide-leg pair of corduroy trousers. If you pull the cord, a more rounded balloon shape is created around the ankles.
This allows you to easily change the look of the trousers. Worn loose, WAYNE looks calm and long. Pulled tight, they gain more volume and a somewhat more playful silhouette. Useful if you sometimes feel like wearing classic wide trousers and other times think: today I want something a bit more unique.
How do the WAYNE trousers fit?
WAYNE has a relaxed fit and is meant to fall loosely around the legs. In principle, choose your usual size for the fit as intended by KOMODO.
When choosing your size, pay close attention to the waist. The legs may be roomy, but the waistband should, of course, fit comfortably. If you are between sizes and prefer to wear your trousers a bit looser, choose the larger size and use a belt if necessary. If you prefer to wear them a bit smarter and higher at the waist, the smaller size may be more comfortable.

6-wale corduroy: what does that actually mean?
WAYNE is made of 6-wale corduroy. ‘Wale’ refers to the number of ribs per inch. The lower the number, the wider the rib. With six ribs per inch, you get a clearly visible, sturdy corduroy structure.
That wide rib gives the trousers their rugged look and ensures the color changes beautifully with the light. The fabric feels soft on the outside, but at the same time has sufficient sturdiness to maintain the wide shape of the trousers well.
Organic cotton corduroy can feel a bit firmer at first. Through wear, the material becomes more supple and the trousers will increasingly adapt to your body. That is normal and precisely one of the fine qualities of cotton.
What color is KHAKI?
For WAYNE, KHAKI is a dark, warm color with both olive green and brown tones. In daylight, the green becomes more apparent, while indoors the trousers may appear slightly darker and browner. Due to the wide rib structure, the color is never completely flat.
This khaki shade combines beautifully with ecru, dark blue, rust, brown, black, and various shades of denim. Wear WAYNE simply with a T-shirt or sweater, or combine them with a plaid shirt for a slightly tougher autumn look.

Organic cotton also has an impact. Making, dyeing, and transporting a pair of trousers still requires resources, labor, and energy. That is why we find it at least as important that a garment is sturdy, can be combined well, and does not disappear to the back of the closet after one fashion season. Luckily, WAYNE is the kind of trouser that becomes more beautiful and supple the more you wear it.
How to keep corduroy looking great
Wash the trousers only when really necessary. Often, airing them out outside is enough. Does WAYNE need to be washed? Then turn them inside out, close the button and zip, and remove the drawstring at the ankles if necessary. Wash the trousers at a maximum of 30 degrees with similar dark colors and use a small amount of mild detergent.
Remove WAYNE from the washing machine immediately afterward, shake them out gently, and pull the trousers back into shape. Let them air dry and preferably do not put them in the dryer. This way, the color, fit, and soft rib structure will stay nice for longer.
Do you want to iron the trousers? Do so inside out at a low temperature. Do not press the iron hard onto the ribs, as this can flatten the structure. For safety, always check the sewn-in care label.
