The cut-out does the work
The most striking detail of the CHAI is, of course, the opening below the neck. Two parts of the fabric cross over each other to form a graphic cut-out above the chest. This makes the top seem simple from a distance, but up close, there’s suddenly a lot going on.
The opening sits relatively high, roughly at the collarbone and the upper part of the chest. For most standard bras, the cups remain covered, though this naturally depends on your body type and the style of bra you wear.
Want to wear the cut-out slightly less exposed? You can wear a thin camisole underneath. Just keep in mind that its color will be visible through the opening. Black creates extra contrast, dark green keeps the look more subtle, and a skin-toned underlayer preserves the original effect as much as possible.
CHAI GREEN: green, but at its chicest
The color GREEN is a rich, deep shade of green. Not a timid sage or a dull forest green, but a powerful color that sits somewhere between emerald and dark green.
The color makes the top striking enough to wear on its own, while remaining dark and subdued enough to be easily combined. The CHAI is made of 92% modal and 8% spandex. Modal is a cellulose fiber known for its soft, smooth, and supple feel. The fabric feels light on the skin and moves easily with your body.
The 8% spandex gives the top a great deal of stretch. This allows the style to fit nicely without you feeling like you’ve been vacuum-packed into a garment. The fabric bounces back as you move and settles back into a neat fit after putting it on.
Because modal is so supple, the fabric does show more than a thick cotton jersey would. Want to minimize visible lines under the top? Opt for smooth, seamless underwear. Or just wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. We are a clothing store, not a body-shaping authority.
Completely vegan
The CHAI GREEN is completely vegan. No animal materials such as wool, silk, leather, or down have been used for this top. The combination of modal and spandex gives the top its soft, elastic character.
Vegan doesn't automatically mean a garment has no impact. Fiber production, dyeing, tailoring, and transportation still require resources and energy. What we can honestly say here: this top contains no animal fibers and is designed as a versatile garment that you can wear in many different ways.
Fit and size advice
The CHAI has a fitted silhouette. The fabric contains plenty of stretch, but the style is intended to sit quite close to the body. The sleeves are also slim-fitting.
Doubting between two sizes? Choose the larger size. We also advise this if you want a bit more room around the chest, have broad shoulders, or don't want the top to be very tight around your waist.
If you want to wear the CHAI exactly as it appears in the product photos, stick to your usual size in principle. If you want a slightly less fitted effect, feel free to take one size larger. Stretch can do a lot, but that doesn't mean every centimeter needs to be maximized.
The KOMODO model is 170 cm tall and wears size 2, which corresponds to a UK 10 and roughly an EU size 38.
Thumbholes in the sleeves
The long sleeves end in extended cuffs with thumbholes. This allows you to partially cover your hands with the fabric. It gives the top a slightly edgier, modern look and is also nice when your hands get cold easily.
Don't want to use the thumbholes? You can simply wear the cuffs normally around the wrists. The extra length can then fold slightly, which suits the supple character of the fabric well.
How to style the CHAI GREEN
The green CHAI can be worn both casually and dressed up. It mainly depends on what you wear under and over it.

Be careful with bags, zippers, and rough surfaces
Modal is wonderfully soft, but the delicate fabric does require a little attention. Sharp zippers, rough belts, chunky jewelry, and bags that constantly rub against the same spot can damage the fabric or cause small snags.
Be especially careful with crossbody bags, metal buckles, and open jacket zippers. Velcro is also not a friend of fine modal. Preferably keep those two apart. Some relationships are just doomed to fail.
How to wash the CHAI GREEN
Always check the wash label in the top first. Modal stays beautiful longest when you wash it gently and don't treat it with too much heat.
- Wash the top inside out.
- Choose a delicate wash cycle at a maximum of 30 °C.
- Use a mild detergent.
- Wash with similar colors.
- Close zippers and hooks on other garments or use a laundry bag.
- Do not use bleach.
- Preferably avoid fabric softener.
- Use a low spin speed.
- Do not tumble dry.
- After washing, gently reshape the top.
- Let it air dry.
- Only iron at a low temperature if necessary.
Try not to stuff it into the machine with jeans full of metal buttons and zippers. That might sound cozy, but for a delicate modal fabric, it’s about the same as camping in a toolbox.
