KOMODO HATTIE CHESTNUT organic cotton corduroy jacket
This color immediately adds a cozy feel to your wardrobe. The HATTIE jacket by KOMODO is made from 100% organic cotton corduroy in a warm chestnut color. CHESTNUT sits beautifully between rust, copper, and brown, and takes on a different glow due to the corduroy texture. It is exactly the kind of color for which autumn seems to have been specially invented.
HATTIE features a striking oversized fit with wide shoulders, roomy sleeves, and a shorter, rounded shape. A bit eighties, a bit pilot jacket, and, above all, a lot of character. We also carry this model in KHAKI, and there are matching LOLA corduroy trousers available for both colors.

A jacket that doesn't just fade into the background
HATTIE is not an inconspicuous, straight jacket that you only put on because you happen to be cold. The wide shoulders, various panels, and roomy sleeves give it a distinct silhouette. The fabric is subtly pleated at the shoulders, giving the sleeves a beautiful, rounded shape.
The hem at the bottom brings the volume back in, creating a shorter, almost bomber-like style. This makes HATTIE look just as good with wide-leg trousers as it does with a skirt, dress, or straight jeans. The jacket has quite a bit of volume, but because of the supple corduroy, it never looks stiff or boxy.
You can wear the high collar open or close it further when it gets chillier outside. HATTIE has a zip closure with snap buttons at the front. The spacious side pockets are nicely integrated into the design and offer plenty of room for your hands, phone, and all the stray items that somehow always end up in jacket pockets.
How does the HATTIE jacket fit?
HATTIE deliberately has a roomy, oversized fit. Choose your usual size if you want to wear the style as KOMODO designed it. This leaves plenty of room for a blouse, sweater, or a chunky knit jumper underneath.
KOMODO's model is 170 cm tall and is wearing a size 2, comparable to a size 38 (US 6/8). In the photo, you can see that the jacket fits loosely around the body, shoulders, and sleeves. That volume is an essential part of the design.
Would you prefer HATTIE to be slightly less oversized, and are you between sizes? Then you could consider the smaller size. Keep in mind, however, that the jacket will then also be narrower around the shoulders, leaving you less room for thick layers underneath. If you want the full eighties effect, definitely choose your own size. With this jacket, a little extra room isn't a mistake—it's the whole idea.
CHESTNUT: warm without being boring
CHESTNUT is a warm chestnut-brown shade with rust and copper tones. Because of the soft ribbed structure, the fabric catches the light in different ways. This can make the jacket appear brighter and more rusty in daylight, while the color becomes a deeper brown indoors.
Combine CHESTNUT with ecru, soft pink, denim, olive green, dark blue, chocolate brown, or even bright cobalt blue. A tonal look also works beautifully: for example, wear the jacket with camel, sand, and various shades of brown. Warm and calm, but thanks to its shape and texture, absolutely not "sad beige." The shopkeeper personally guards against that.
A great transitional jacket
HATTIE is unlined and is therefore mainly intended as a light jacket or an extra layer. In spring and autumn, you can wear it outdoors over a T-shirt, blouse, or sweater. On a crisp summer evening, it is sturdy enough to provide warmth without feeling like you are wearing a full winter coat.
In winter, you can also wear HATTIE as an indoor jacket or as an extra layer under a roomier coat. The organic cotton is breathable and becomes more supple the more you wear it. It is not a thick technical winter jacket, but a sturdy cotton transitional piece that you can enjoy for a large part of the year.
Make it a complete corduroy suit
To go with HATTIE CHESTNUT, we have the KOMODO LOLA corduroy trousers in a matching color. Together, they form a striking, warm set with plenty of corduroy texture.
Wear the jacket open with a simple white or ecru T-shirt to really let the color speak for itself. With a fitted turtleneck or blouse, the combination becomes a bit dressier. The oversized jacket and wide trousers together create a modern silhouette that is comfortable without looking like a tracksuit. Just as importantly.
Do you think a full corduroy outfit is a bit too ambitious for an ordinary Wednesday? Then just wear HATTIE with denim, black, or trousers in a contrasting color. You can, of course, also wear the matching LOLA trousers separately. This way, you immediately have multiple outfits with just two garments.
CHESTNUT or KHAKI?
CHESTNUT is warm, striking, and has distinct rust and chestnut-brown tones. A great choice if you love rich autumn colors and like adding warmth to your outfit.
KHAKI is darker and calmer, with an olive-green hue and a light brown undertone. This version is easy to combine with natural colors, denim, camel, and dark blue.
The model and fit are the same for both colors. The difficult choice is thus limited to warm chestnut brown or deep olive green. We could have made it easier for you by only stocking one beautiful color, but clearly, we weren't capable of that.
Why corduroy is so comfortable to wear
Corduroy gives the fabric its soft surface and recognizable structure. The organic cotton feels sturdy at first, but gradually becomes more supple with wear and will increasingly form to your body.
The structure immediately adds more depth to a simple outfit. Moreover, cotton corduroy is breathable and pleasant during the cooler months. Because HATTIE is unlined, the jacket doesn't get stuffy, making it easy to wear indoors as well.
Organic cotton and vegan
HATTIE is made of 100% organic cotton and is completely vegan. The jacket is produced in a SEDEX-audited factory. SEDEX is a system that monitors, among other things, working conditions, health, safety, and business operations within the production chain.
Organic cotton also has an impact. Producing, dyeing, and transporting a jacket requires raw materials, water, energy, and labor. That is why we think it is important that a garment is not only made of a more consciously chosen material but can also be worn often and for a long time. The sturdy fabric, roomy fit, and many styling possibilities help with that, fortunately.
How to keep HATTIE looking its best
Wash the jacket only when really necessary. Because you usually wear HATTIE over other clothing, airing it out outside is often enough. Does it still need to be washed? Turn the jacket inside out, close the zipper and snap buttons, and choose a gentle cycle at a maximum of 30 degrees. Use a small amount of mild detergent and wash with similar colors.
Remove HATTIE from the washing machine immediately after it finishes, shake it out gently, and pull it into shape. Let it air dry and avoid the tumble dryer. This will keep the warm color, oversized fit, and soft texture looking good for longer.
Do you want to iron the jacket? Do so inside out on a low temperature. Do not press the iron hard on the ribs, as this can flatten the corduroy structure. Often, just hanging it up properly is enough. Always check the sewn-in care label to be sure.
