Fit & size advice

HIRSCH NATUR socks run large. In doubt? Go for the smaller size. The cuff is soft but snug, and the socks fit nicely without pinching. Thanks to the natural elasticity of wool, they shape beautifully to your foot. Available in sizes 36 to 48 – making them suitable for both women and men.

Material & care

Made from 100% organic wool – without synthetic fibers. This makes these socks wonderfully breathable, keeping your feet warm but never sweaty, and they don't absorb odors. You hardly need to wash them: just hang them outside or in the bathroom while showering, and they’ll be fresh again.

Do you need to wash them after all? Do so on a cold wool cycle and always use Lanalicious. Wool only shrinks due to temperature fluctuations and high-speed spinning, so be gentle with your socks. An important fact about pure wool

Pure wool socks can wear out – it's part of the deal. No 100% wool sock is completely resistant to intensive use. How quickly this happens depends on the person, the shoe, and walking style. Do you see thin spots? Darn them with darning wool and your socks will last even longer. Honest, sustainable, and just as grandma used to do.

FAQ – frequently asked questions

Are these socks really "thin"?
They are thinner than Norwegian wool socks, but thicker than our plain Grodo socks. Right in between – ideal for inside shoes.

Do they itch?
No, the organic wool feels soft and breathes well. This means you don't get sweaty feet and therefore no irritation.

Can I wash them?
Only if strictly necessary, on a cold wool cycle, with Lanalicious. Usually, airing them out is enough.

Will pure wool socks get holes?
Yes, eventually. That is part of 100% wool. Read our blog about wear and maintenance to slow this process down.

Why do they run large?
Because they don't contain synthetic elastic fibers. The wool shapes itself to your foot, so feel free to take your smaller size.
