HIMALAYA wool Fair Isle sweater GABI made of pure lambswool
The GABI by FRISTED by HIMALAYA is a delightful wool sweater for anyone who loves color, unique knits, and a touch of Scandinavian coziness. The sweater is knitted from 100% pure lambswool and features a colorful Fair Isle pattern around the neck. The pattern subtly reappears along the hem and sleeves. The small knitted-in bobbles make the knitwear just that little bit more playful.
GABI has a round neckline, long sleeves, and a comfortable, straight fit. The lambswool keeps you wonderfully warm without the sweater feeling bulky or heavy. We have it in two colors: a mottled green-blue EMERALD with yellow-green accents and a bold RED version with pink and orange. Both are colorful, yet each has its own distinct character.

FRISTED and HIMALAYA – how does that work?
The GABI comes from the FRISTED collection by HIMALAYA. FRISTED is the knitwear label affiliated with HIMALAYA that focuses entirely on knitted clothing. Think beautiful yarns, unique knitting patterns, playful details, and especially lots of color. Exactly the kind of sweater that makes even a gray winter day think: alright then, I’ll try to be a bit cheerful.
The clothing is made using the same sustainable principles you are accustomed to from HIMALAYA. For this sweater, that means choosing pure, mulesing-free lambswool without a superwash treatment.
OEKO-TEX, mulesing-free, and no superwash
The wool in this sweater is not organically certified. We state this clearly because an OEKO-TEX certification is different from an organic label. OEKO-TEX focuses on the presence of harmful substances in the material and the finished product.
Furthermore, the lambswool used is mulesing-free. This means the sheep have not been treated with the painful mulesing method. The wool has also not undergone a superwash treatment. With superwash, wool is treated to make it more resistant to machine washing. This treatment is absent here, which allows the wool to retain its more natural character. This does require a little love when washing, but fortunately, wool does not need to be washed very often at all.
EMERALD or red?
EMERALD is a mottled green-blue color with a Fair Isle pattern in fresh green, turquoise, and yellow-green. A beautiful color for lovers of green who like to wear something special but don't immediately want to look like a walking traffic light.
The red version is warmer and more pronounced. The base is bright red with a pattern in various shades of red, pink, and orange. Bold, cheerful, and especially nice for dark days when you want your outfit to do a bit of the heavy lifting for you.

Fit and sizing advice
The GABI has a straight, comfortable fit. The sweater is not tightly tailored, but it is also not extremely baggy or oversized. In principle, choose your own size. Because pure lambswool has little stretch, if you are in doubt or like to wear a shirt under your sweater, it is best to compare the sizes below with a well-fitting sweater from your own closet.
The width is measured while the sweater is laying flat, from armpit to armpit. For the estimated total chest circumference, multiply this size by two. Keep in mind that manual measurement can always result in a small difference.

How does lambswool feel?
Lambswool comes from the first shearing of a young sheep and consists of relatively fine, soft fibers. Even so, it remains true wool. You will feel a natural, slightly woolly material rather than a smooth synthetic sweater. Most people find it comfortable to wear this sweater over a camisole or shirt.
Are you very sensitive to wool or do you get itchy easily? Wear a thin long-sleeve underneath or come and try on the sweater in our store first. How wool feels on the skin is very personal.
How to style the GABI
The EMERALD version looks beautiful with denim, dark blue, petrol, olive green, and soft neutral tones. The red sweater combines very easily with dark jeans, black, burgundy, brown, or warm corduroy pants. Because of the straight fit, you can wear GABI loose, or tuck a small part of the front into your pants or skirt.
The colorful knitwear does enough for your outfit on its own. A simple pair of pants or a skirt underneath and you're done. Sometimes a sweater should just be allowed to do all the hard work.
How to care for a sweater without superwash
Wash this wool sweater as little as possible. Often, letting it air out is enough, as wool is naturally odor-resistant. If washing is necessary, use a wool wash program at a maximum of 30 degrees and a small amount of special wool detergent. Choose a low spin speed and do not let the sweater soak.
Take GABI out of the machine immediately after washing, gently reshape it, and let it dry flat. Do not hang a wet wool sweater on a clothes hanger and never put it in the dryer. That makes both the wool and us quite sad.
