GLERUPS wool insoles made of pure wool felt – grey
Cold shoes or boots? Insert a pair of these wool insoles from GLERUPS. They are made of 100% pure natural wool and provide a soft, warm, and insulating layer under your feet. I like to use them in my own boots, as those are simply much colder without these wool insoles.
The insoles are about 8–10 mm thick and are suitable for boots, rain boots, hiking boots, work boots, and other shoes with enough room inside. Do you have narrow feet or are your shoes often a bit too loose? Then these GLERUPS insoles can also help to fill up some extra volume.

How do you cut the GLERUPS insoles to size?
If possible, remove the loose insole from your shoe and use it as a template. Place it on the wool insole, trace the outline, and use sturdy fabric scissors to trim away a small edge at a time. It is better to trim a little bit twice than to be too enthusiastic at once – adding material back on is difficult.
Over time, the wool felt will increasingly mold to your foot and the inside of your shoe.
Can these insoles also be used in GLERUPS slippers?
We hear mixed experiences about this, so we cannot give a definitive yes or no. The existing footbed of GLERUPS slippers cannot be removed. Therefore, an extra insole will make the slipper noticeably smaller and tighter.
If you have narrow feet or your GLERUPS are a bit too loose, that might actually be pleasant. If your slippers already fit snugly, we would not add an extra insole.
Good to know
These felt insoles are intended for extra warmth, softness, and insulation. They do not have arch support and therefore do not replace orthopedic or corrective insoles. Also, keep in mind that an 8–10 mm insole takes up space. In a shoe that is already tight, that will likely not be comfortable.
Maintenance of wool insoles
Wool has natural self-cleaning properties. Therefore, remove the insoles from your shoes occasionally and let them air out overnight. Washing is usually not necessary.
If a stain does occur, dab it gently with a slightly damp cloth and a little bit of Lanalicious wool detergent with lanolin. Then, let the insoles dry completely while lying flat. Do not put them in the washing machine or dryer.
A little bit of fuzz or the shedding of a few wool fibers is not unusual for natural wool felt. You can simply remove loose fibers by hand. Only use a Gleener fabric shaver very carefully so that you do not thin out the felt.
