How does the COLETTE alpaca sweater fit?
COLETTE has a very loose fit. That is part of the design and creates that beautiful, relaxed batwing shape. So don't be put off by the combined sizes. You can easily wear size S/M if you normally wear size 34 to 40. L/XL is suitable for approximately size 42 to 46.

Are you hesitating between the two sizes? Look mainly at the size you normally wear around your hips and how loose you want the sweater to be. Around the shoulders, arms, and bust, the batwing model naturally provides plenty of freedom of movement.
Lightly knitted yet comfortably warm
This is not a very thick or heavy winter sweater. The knit is relatively light and flexible, while alpaca retains a surprising amount of heat. In the photo, I am wearing a wool and silk camisole underneath. On colder days, you can also beautifully pair COLETTE with a thin turtleneck.
It’s that kind of sweater you can easily throw over anything. Wear it with dark jeans for an easy everyday combination or over a quiet, plain dress. The warm colors also look stunning with black, dark blue, eggplant, rust brown, and burgundy.
Warm colors without looking like a walking Christmas ornament
This color combination is powerful but beautifully balanced. The red and rust panels provide warmth, while the soft pink and purple soften the look. The dark stripes ensure the whole thing doesn't become too sweet.

How does baby alpaca feel?
Baby alpaca is an exceptionally fine quality of alpaca wool. The fibers are soft, light, and insulating. Alpaca naturally contains no lanolin. That can be pleasant if you prefer to avoid lanolin, although wool sensitivity remains a personal matter.
The sweater feels softer and smoother than many chunky-knit sheep's wool sweaters. Are you sensitive to wool? Then wear a thin camisole or shirt underneath, as I do in the photo. That way, you benefit from the warmth without the sweater touching your skin everywhere.
How to care for a pure alpaca sweater
You almost never need to wash alpaca. Hang the sweater outside or near an open window for a night after wearing it. Usually, it will be fresh enough for the next wear after that.
Does COLETTE need washing after all? Always follow the care label, use cold water, and a detergent suitable for alpaca. Do not rub, wring, or put it in the dryer. Carefully reshape the sweater and let it dry flat. Store it preferably folded so that the knit cannot stretch out on a clothes hanger.
What about lint/pilling?
Even soft alpaca wool can pill due to friction. This happens especially under the arms and in places where a coat or bag rubs against the sweater. This is a normal characteristic of natural fibers and not a sign that the sweater is of poor quality.
Do not pull the pills off with your fingers. Use a Gleener lint remover carefully instead. Test the tool on an inconspicuous area first and work without pressing too hard.
