Because, if you give the wool a chance, for about an hour, the wool can warm up, the fibers will relax, and then it becomes even softer than it already is. Nice, right?

Wool is self-cleaning

In principle, you therefore do not need to wash wool. You take the best care of your wool if you let it rest for 24 hours after wearing it. You can hang your undershirt, shirt, or longsleeve in the bathroom or outside for a night to air it out. The lanolin strengthens this self-cleaning process. When wool gets a little bit damp, this becomes a bit "soapy." It is not strange to go half a year without washing your wool. But it is important to air out your wool.
After washing, pull your shirt into shape, especially in terms of length. If you don't do this, it can shrink due to the washing. If you pull your shirt back into shape in length, it will stay nice and long. Useful, because then you can wear it tucked into your trousers or skirt. Keeps your back nice and warm.
