ENGEL wool-silk camisole with lace NATURAL – wool underwear with V-neck
Wool underwear doesn't always have to be purely practical. This ENGEL wool-silk camisole with lace in NATURAL proves that a warm base layer can also be truly beautiful. The deep V-neck is finished with fine floral lace, meaning you can not only wear this camisole under your clothes but also deliberately let it peek out from under a blouse, cardigan, or sweater.
The natural color is a soft, warm ecru shade that easily fits under light-colored clothing and pairs with essentially everything. This has been one of our favorite Engel camisoles for years: lovely as a base layer in winter and beautiful enough to wear as a top on warm summer days.

We believe it is important to be clear about this: the camisole itself is made of 70% organic virgin wool and 30% silk, but the lace section is not composed entirely of natural fibers.
The composition of the natural-colored lace is:
- 73% polyamide
- 21% elastane
- 6% cotton
The polyamide and elastane ensure that the fine lace remains stretchy, fits beautifully, and keeps its shape. Are you buying this camisole specifically because you want to wear only natural materials? Please keep in mind that the lace trim contains synthetic fibers.
Why wool and silk is such a great combination
Organic virgin wool helps regulate your body temperature. The fiber retains heat when it's cold but can also absorb and release moisture. As a result, wool often feels pleasantly warm without making you feel clammy.
Silk makes the fabric smoother and more supple and gives the camisole a fine, light feel against the skin. Together, wool and silk form a thin quality that is easy to wear under other clothing. It's not a bulky layer, but it provides that little bit of extra comfort that makes you very happy on a cool day.

Not just for under your clothes
In autumn and winter, this camisole is ideal under a blouse, sweater, dress, or cardigan. The long, narrow fit makes it easy to tuck the camisole into your trousers or skirt, keeping your lower back nicely covered.
In the summer, you can simply wear the camisole as a top. The fine ribbed fabric is light and breathable, and the lace V-neck gives the model just enough flair to keep it from looking like a standard undershirt. With a pair of jeans, a skirt, or airy trousers, you’re basically ready to go.
Depending on the light and what you wear underneath, the light natural color and fine fabric may be slightly sheer. That is characteristic of this thin wool-silk quality.
Fit and sizing advice
The wool-silk camisoles from ENGEL have a long and narrow fit. In principle, choose your own size. Are you between two sizes? We recommend the larger size. The camisole will still have a close-fitting look while giving you just that little bit of extra room and length.
That bit of extra length is nice when you like to tuck the camisole into your trousers or skirt and don't want a bare lower back the moment you sit down or bend over.

ENGEL Natur: a staple at Natur-el for over 21 years
ENGEL Natur has been with Natur-el since the beginning. We discovered the brand over 21 years ago at a trade fair and were immediately enthusiastic about the quality of their organic wool and wool-silk. We now have one of the largest collections of wool underwear from ENGEL in the Netherlands.
The wool is not treated with a superwash process. This means that the natural properties of the wool fiber are preserved as much as possible, but it also means it is important to treat the camisole like real wool. A regular wash mixed with towels and jeans is therefore not a brilliant plan.
Wool underwear hardly needs washing
Wool has natural self-cleaning properties. Hang the camisole outside or in a well-ventilated bathroom after wearing and let it air out. Often, you can just put it back on the next day.

How to wash wool-silk with lace
Is washing necessary after all? Use the wool wash cycle, a low temperature, and low spin speed. We recommend placing the camisole in a laundry bag so that the fine lace doesn't get caught on a zipper, hook, or other garment.
Always use a special wool detergent containing lanolin, such as our own LANALICIOUS detergent for wool and silk. The lanolin helps keep the wool soft, supple, and strong. A small amount is sufficient.
Remove the camisole from the machine immediately after washing, gently pull it into shape, and let it dry flat or laid out carefully. Do not wring and do not put it in the dryer. Also, be careful with sharp jewelry and nails when putting it on: lace is beautiful, but it doesn't like unexpected snags.
Removing lint with the Gleener
Small pieces of lint or pilling can appear on wool-silk over time in areas subject to friction. This is normal for natural fibers.
You can remove these carefully with the GLEENER fabric shaver. For this delicate fabric, use only the appropriate fine attachment, lay the camisole flat, and work very gently without applying pressure.
Do not use the Gleener on the lace. The open structure can get caught in the attachment. That would be a terrible shame for the very part that makes this camisole so beautiful.
