ANUKOO wool sweater 100% alpaca HANNAH

This is one of those pieces you put on and would prefer not to take off for the rest of the winter. The ANUKOO wool sweater HANNAH is made from 100% fairtrade alpaca wool: wonderfully soft, light, and warm, without that heavy feeling of a thick winter sweater.

The batwing sleeves give HANNAH its beautiful, nonchalant shape. The sweater fits loosely around the upper body, tapers at the sleeves, and has a spacious round neck. The front is slightly shorter than the back, making it look great with jeans, a skirt, or high-waisted trousers. Comfortable and flattering. We love to see that.

HANNAH is available in three colors: Red, Blue, and Green. And then the most difficult part perhaps begins: choosing.

Batwing sleeves and a flattering fit

The batwing sleeves give this alpaca sweater plenty of freedom of movement while ensuring that lovely loose, elegant look. HANNAH is not tight anywhere around your shoulders or upper arms, but it doesn't become one big, shapeless sack either. Because the front is slightly shorter, your waist remains visible, and the back falls just a bit longer.

You can wear the sweater loose, but you can also tuck the front slightly into your trousers or skirt. Such a small French tuck often does wonders for your silhouette. Sometimes styling is truly as simple as tucking one corner of your sweater in the right spot.

How does the sizing of the ANUKOO sweater HANNAH work?

HANNAH is available in two combined sizes: S/M and L/XL. The clothing label only shows S or L. That means:

• Label S stands for size S/M
• Label L stands for size L/XL

This way, ANUKOO doesn't have to have extra labels made, and as long as we explain it clearly, you know exactly which size to choose.

In the photos, I am wearing size L/XL, and I am a size 40 myself. It fits me nicely and loosely, which is exactly what I love about this model. Depending on how loose you want it to fit, the L/XL is suitable up to approximately size 42/44. Do you prefer it less loose? Then, if you are a size 40, you could optionally choose S/M.

Is an alpaca sweater warm?

Yes, alpaca wool retains heat very well while the fiber remains surprisingly light. As a result, HANNAH provides plenty of warmth without you feeling like you've put on an entire sheep barn. Furthermore, alpaca is breathable and helps regulate your body temperature.

Alpaca wool does not contain lanolin by nature. Consequently, alpaca can be a great choice for people who are allergic or sensitive to lanolin. Most people also find alpaca to be soft and comfortable. Whether wool itches remains a very personal experience. If you have particularly sensitive skin, wear a thin camisole or shirt underneath, or come and try the sweater on with us first.

Does alpaca pill?

Alpaca naturally has a soft, slightly fuzzy surface. As a result, small pills or balls may form during wear, especially in areas with frequent friction. That is part of the material and does not mean the sweater is worn out.

You can carefully remove loose pills with the Gleener fabric shaver. Use light pressure and work slowly so you do not damage the fine alpaca fibers.

How to wash an alpaca wool sweater

Preferably as little as possible. Alpaca absorbs odors less quickly, and often a night of airing out is enough. When doing so, do not hang the sweater on a hanger for long periods, as it may lose its shape due to its own weight.

Is washing necessary after all? Then wash HANNAH cold or on a suitable wool cycle at a maximum of 30 degrees, with a low spin speed. For alpaca, preferably use a special wool detergent without lanolin. Alpaca does not naturally contain lanolin itself and therefore does not need this addition.

We recommend Washpaca detergent for alpaca without lanolin. Do not use regular detergent or fabric softener and never put the sweater in the dryer. Gently reshape it after washing and let it dry flat.
