ANUKOO wool sweater 100% alpaca HANNAH

This is one of those pieces you put on and would prefer not to take off for the rest of the winter. The ANUKOO wool sweater HANNAH is made of 100% fairtrade alpaca wool: wonderfully soft, light, and warm, but without the heavy feeling of a thick winter sweater.

The batwing sleeves give HANNAH its beautiful, casual shape. The sweater fits loosely around the upper body, tapers towards the sleeves, and has a wide, round neckline. The front is slightly shorter than the back, which looks great with jeans, a skirt, or trousers with a higher waist. Comfortable and flattering, that is. We love that.

HANNAH is available in three colors: Red, Blue, and Green. And that is perhaps the hardest part: choosing.

Batwing sleeves and a flattering fit

The batwing sleeves give this alpaca sweater plenty of freedom of movement while creating that lovely loose, elegant look. HANNAH is not tight around your shoulders or upper arms, but it doesn't become one big, shapeless piece either. Thanks to the slightly shorter front, your waist remains visible, and the back falls just a bit longer.

You can wear the sweater loose, but you can also tuck the front in a little bit into your trousers or skirt. Such a small French tuck often does a surprising amount for your silhouette. Sometimes styling really is no more complicated than tucking one corner of a sweater in the right spot.

How does the ANUKOO sweater HANNAH fit?

HANNAH is available in two combined sizes: S/M and L/XL. The clothing label only shows S or L. This means:

• Label S stands for size S/M
• Label L stands for size L/XL

This means ANUKOO does not need to have extra labels made, and if we explain it clearly, you know exactly which size to choose.

I am wearing size L/XL in the photos and am a size 40 myself. It fits me nice and roomy, which I find very cool for this model. Depending on how loose you want to wear it, the L/XL is suitable up to approximately size 42/44. Do you want it less roomy? If you are a size 40, you could potentially also choose S/M.

Is an alpaca sweater warm?

Yes, alpaca wool retains heat very well while the fiber remains surprisingly light. As a result, HANNAH provides plenty of warmth without you feeling like you’ve put on a whole sheep barn. Furthermore, alpaca is breathable and helps regulate your body temperature.

Alpaca wool naturally contains no lanolin. This can make alpaca a great choice for people who are allergic or sensitive to lanolin. Most people also find alpaca to be soft and comfortable. Whether wool itches remains a very personal thing. Do you have particularly sensitive skin? Wear a thin camisole or shirt underneath, or come by to try on the sweater first.

Does alpaca pill?

Alpaca naturally has a soft, slightly hairy surface. As a result, small pills or balls may form during wear, especially in areas with a lot of friction. This is part of the material and does not mean the sweater is worn out.

You can carefully remove loose pills with the Gleener fabric shaver. Use light pressure and work slowly so you do not damage the fine alpaca fibers.

How to wash an alpaca wool sweater

Preferably as little as possible. Alpaca absorbs odors less quickly, and often a night of airing out is enough. Do not hang the sweater on a hanger for long periods, as it may lose its shape due to its own weight.

Is washing necessary? Wash HANNAH cold or on a suitable wool wash program at a maximum of 30 degrees, with a low spin speed. For alpaca, preferably use a special wool detergent without lanolin. Alpaca itself does not naturally contain lanolin and therefore does not need this additive.

We recommend Washpaca detergent for alpaca without lanolin. Do not use regular detergent or fabric softener, and never put the sweater in the dryer. Gently reshape it after washing and let it dry flat.
