De Colores alpaca wool kidney warmer – born from a heartfelt wish
Some products aren't created in a meeting room, but from a genuine need. This alpaca wool kidney warmer from De Colores is a wonderful example of that. For years, we received the same question in the shop: "Do you also have a nice black kidney warmer?" We passed on that wish. And De Colores listened. Not half-heartedly, but properly. The result: this reversible kidney warmer, wearable on both sides, in black and color. A self-care classic that just works.
Natural warmth your body craves
Could your body use some extra warmth? Then a wool kidney warmer is pure gold. It is often worn for a stiff or sensitive lower back, during menstruation, after childbirth, or simply because you tend to feel cold around your abdomen and lower back. Wool absorbs your body heat and retains it, without causing you to overheat. Exactly what you want.
On social media, someone even responded that they used it after childbirth over their chest, for the onset of mastitis. I think that is such a beautiful example of how versatile this product is.
Why baby alpaca wool is so wonderful
The composition is 98% alpaca wool and 2% elastane. Alpaca is exceptionally soft, doesn't itch, and is perfect for direct skin contact. The elastane ensures the kidney warmer fits beautifully and doesn't lose its shape, even after frequent wear.
Wool acts as a natural insulation layer: it keeps heat where you need it while letting your skin breathe. This makes it easy to wear this kidney warmer under your clothing without it being visible.
Reversible & unisex – two looks in one
Every kidney warmer is reversible. The outside has a color, the inside is dark anthracite. Want something subtle? Turn it inside out. Want some color? That works too.
And it's important to mention: this is not a "women's product." It is completely unisex. Men wear it just as easily. The fact that the photos mainly show women says nothing about how it is used.
A fun extra detail: women sometimes wear it as a mini skirt. That's perfectly fine.
Fit & sizes
Thanks to the stretchy structure, the kidney warmer fits nicely without constricting. It remains comfortable even in larger sizes.

Maintenance – wool does most of the work itself
Alpaca wool is self-cleaning. Airing it out after wearing is usually sufficient. Need to wash it anyway? Use a special alpaca detergent like Washpaca and wash it gently. Really not too often.
Sustainable & ethically made
De Colores works with small-scale workshops in Peru, which is also where the alpaca wool comes from. Everything is made under fair conditions, with respect for people and animals. Warmth with a good story.
