TRANQUILLO wool cardigan LEONAH FAIRISLE – 100% RWS lambswool in warm winter colors
This is exactly the kind of cardigan that makes you look forward to cold days. The TRANQUILLO LEONAH FAIRISLE is made of 100% lambswool and features a beautiful Scandinavian knit pattern across the shoulders and sleeves. Warm burgundy, raspberry, soft pink, and natural tones blend together in that typical wintry jacquard design. Classic? Yes. Old-fashioned? Absolutely not.
What makes this cardigan so beautiful is that the pattern isn't everywhere. The bottom remains calm and solid, making the piece very wearable. And then those pearlescent buttons… just enough detail to make the cardigan look that little bit chicer.

What makes the TRANQUILLO LEONAH FAIRISLE cardigan special?
First, of course, the pattern. The classic Fair Isle knit runs across the shoulders, chest, and sleeves, immediately giving the cardigan that warm, northern aesthetic. Think: wintry, cozy, a touch of retro, but in a way that you can simply wear with jeans.
The deep wine-red base color makes it extra beautiful. The lighter pink and red shades in the pattern stand out without becoming too loud. This makes LEONAH very easy to combine with denim, ecru, dark brown, black, and of course all the beautiful burgundy and raspberry tones we are seeing everywhere this winter.
Is the LEONAH cardigan really made of 100% wool?
Yes. No acrylic, no polyester, no synthetic filling: 100% lambswool.
That means you benefit from everything that makes wool so great. Wool is naturally breathable, temperature-regulating, and insulating. It retains heat when you need it, but also allows your body to breathe. That’s why a good wool cardigan feels warm without ever becoming stuffy.
And precisely because there are no synthetic fibers in it, the cardigan feels and behaves like a natural wool knit.
What does RWS-certified and mulesing-free wool mean?
The wool in LEONAH is RWS-certified. RWS stands for Responsible Wool Standard and sets requirements for animal welfare, land management, and the origin of the wool.
In addition, the wool is mulesing-free. We at Natur-el believe this is important, because beautiful wool should not only feel good to wear, but also be produced responsibly.
How does the TRANQUILLO LEONAH wool cardigan fit?
The model in the photo is wearing size S, and in that size, the cardigan is approximately 56 cm long. LEONAH has a regular, feminine fit: not oversized, but not tight either.
Simply choose your own size. Would you like a looser fit, or do you prefer to wear a thicker long-sleeve or turtleneck underneath? If in doubt, you can choose the larger size.
How do you style a Fair Isle cardigan?
Honestly: a cardigan like this needs almost nothing else. A good pair of jeans underneath and you're ready to go.
We think it looks beautiful over a thin burgundy turtleneck like in the photo, but also over a natural wool camisole, a plain shirt, or a white blouse. It looks a bit dressier with dark trousers, and lovely and casual with denim.
And do you want that ultimate winter feeling? Combine it with wool trousers, warm socks, and boots. Then we’re more than ready for a freeze.
Is lambswool soft?
Lambswool comes from the first shearing of a young sheep and is generally finer and softer than coarser types of wool. However, it remains real wool. If you are very sensitive to wool directly against your skin, wear a thin wool-silk shirt or cotton long-sleeve underneath.
That’s also better for your cardigan: a layer underneath prevents extra friction and ensures you don't have to wash your wool cardigan as often.
Do you have to wash a wool cardigan often?
No. In fact: preferably not.
Wool has natural self-cleaning properties and absorbs odors much less quickly than cotton or synthetic materials. After wearing, simply let LEONAH air out well. For example, overnight by an open window, outside under a roof, or in the bathroom.
Often that is more than enough.
How do you wash the TRANQUILLO LEONAH wool cardigan?
Does the cardigan still need to be washed? Use a cold wool wash program and a wool detergent with lanolin. For this, we like to use Lanalicious wool detergent.
Never wash wool on a regular cotton cycle. Do not wring, do not tumble dry, and carefully reshape after washing. Let the cardigan dry flat so the knit doesn't stretch out.
You really don't need to wash a wool cardigan every few wears. The less you wash it, the longer it will stay beautiful.
Can a 100% wool cardigan pill?
Yes, it can. And that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with your cardigan.
Loose wool fibers can come to the surface due to friction and form small pills. Especially under the arms, at the elbows, or where a bag rubs against your clothing.
You can easily remove these with our Gleener fabric shaver. Do it slowly and carefully, and your cardigan will look fresh again.
Be careful with jewelry and bags
A fine wool knit can be sensitive to snagging. Therefore, be a little careful with rings, bracelets, sharp zippers, and bags with rough straps.
Did you pull a loop out of the knit? Don't cut it. You can often carefully pull the thread to the inside and redistribute the knit neatly.
Is this a good cardigan for the winter?
Absolutely. This is a true woolen winter cardigan. Warm enough to wear as a main layer indoors and ideal under a winter coat when it gets really cold outside.
Precisely because wool insulates so well without sealing you in, it’s the kind of garment you’ll put on in autumn and only reluctantly put away sometime in the spring.
Do not buy if…
…you are actually looking for a smooth, synthetic cardigan that you can thoughtlessly throw in a hot wash every week. This is real wool. It requires a little more love.
But if you are looking for a sustainable women's wool cardigan made of 100% lambswool that is warm, beautifully knitted, and can last for years? Then we would seriously recommend taking a look at LEONAH.
