A basic that is actually way too nice to hide. The TRANQUILLO AJOUR camisole is one of those tops that you buy as an undershirt… and then just end up wearing visibly. Because just look at that fine openwork pattern, the lovely trim along the neckline, and that beautiful color.
We have the camisole in two colors: raspberry and black. Raspberry for those who can use a splash of color, black for when you are looking for such a fine basic that literally goes with everything. And honestly? We would completely understand if you just took both.
Why is the TRANQUILLO AJOUR camisole so nice?
The difference is mainly in the details. The fabric has a subtle ajour pattern: small openwork shapes that make the fabric just a bit airier and more feminine than a regular cotton camisole.
Along the fairly wide, square neckline and the shoulder straps is a small, dainty edge. Not frilly, but just enough to give this camisole something special.

What is ajour?
Ajour is a knitting technique where small openings are created in the fabric. With this TRANQUILLO camisole, this results in a subtle pattern of small geometric shapes.
The result is a fabric that looks very sophisticated and is slightly airier than a completely dense knitted cotton. And that is precisely why this camisole looks far too nice to only wear under your clothes.
How does the TRANQUILLO AJOUR camisole fit?
The camisole has a fitted, feminine silhouette. It is intended to fall nicely along the body, without being a tight compression camisole.
In principle, just choose your own size. Are you between two sizes or do you not like fitted tops? Then you can choose the larger size.
Can you also just wear the AJOUR camisole as a top?
Certainly. In fact: we actually think that is very nice.
The raspberry color looks fantastic with denim, dark blue, brown, gray, and black. The black camisole is, of course, a true all-rounder: with wide-leg trousers, under a blazer, with a cardigan, or simply with jeans.
In the autumn and winter, you can use the camisole nicely as an extra layer under a blouse, cardigan, or sweater. Do you really want extra warmth? Then a wool camisole will naturally remain warmer, but for those who love wearing cotton directly on the skin, this is a wonderful base layer.
What is the TRANQUILLO AJOUR camisole made of?
The camisole is made of 100% organic cotton and is GOTS-certified. We find that extra nice for clothing that goes directly on your skin.
Cotton breathes, feels natural, and is easy to wear all year round. The organic cotton is grown without the common synthetic pesticides used in conventional cotton cultivation.
How do you wash an organic cotton camisole?
Wash the camisole preferably inside out at a maximum of 30 degrees with a mild detergent. Do not use fabric softener and skip the tumble dryer.
Remove it from the machine immediately after washing and gently pull it back into shape. The latter is important for cotton knits: cotton can change shape slightly during wear and washing, and by gently modeling it, you help maintain the original fit.
Then let it air dry.
Be careful with snags in ajour fabric
Because the ajour pattern intentionally has small openings in the knit, the fabric is more sensitive to snags than a completely smooth jersey.
Therefore, be a little careful with sharp jewelry, protruding zippers, and rough surfaces. Never just pull a loop off. You can often carefully pull a small snag to the back of the fabric using a fine needle or a snag repair needle.
After all, durable does not mean indestructible. A little careful wear really makes a difference with such fine natural fabrics.
Which color should I choose: raspberry or black?
Raspberry if you are in the mood for color. It is a deep, rich pink-red shade that looks great under a dark cardigan, but can also be worn beautifully on its own.
Black if you are looking for a basic that truly goes with everything. Because of the ajour pattern and the dainty neckline trim, even the black version is anything but boring.
In other words: the same fine fit, two totally different characters.
Frequently asked questions about the TRANQUILLO AJOUR camisole
Is the TRANQUILLO AJOUR camisole an undershirt or a top?
Both. It is thin and soft enough to wear as an undershirt, but thanks to the ajour pattern and the beautiful neckline, it is also very suitable for wearing visibly as a top.
Does the camisole run big or small?
The style has a fitted, true-to-size fit. Choose your own size. If you are between two sizes or prefer a bit more room, take the larger one.
Is the ajour pattern see-through?
The pattern intentionally contains small openwork sections. Because of this, a little bit of skin may be subtly visible in some places. That is exactly part of the ajour effect.
Is organic cotton warm enough for the winter?
As an extra layer, certainly. However, cotton is less insulating than wool. If you are mainly looking for warmth, wear a wool cardigan or sweater over it, for example.
Can the camisole be tumble-dried?
We advise against that. Air drying is gentler on the cotton fiber and helps maintain the fit for longer.
In which colors is the TRANQUILLO AJOUR camisole available?
We have the camisole in raspberry and black.
One of those basics that you only realize how much you wear it when it happens to be in the wash. And yes… that is exactly why two colors are not such a crazy idea.
