All about this product

A basic that is actually way too cute to hide. The TRANQUILLO AJOUR camisole is one of those tops you buy as an undershirt... and then end up wearing on its own. Just look at that delicate openwork pattern, the lovely trim along the neckline, and that beautiful color.

We have the camisole in two colors: raspberry and black. Raspberry for those who can use some color, and black if you're looking for a fine basic that literally goes with everything. And honestly? We would completely understand if you just got both.

Why is the TRANQUILLO AJOUR camisole so lovely?

The difference lies primarily in the details. The fabric features a subtle openwork pattern: small, delicate openings that make the fabric feel a bit airier and more feminine than a standard cotton camisole.

Along the fairly wide, square neckline and the shoulder straps is a dainty little trim. Not fussy, but just enough to give this camisole something special.

  • 100% organic cotton
  • GOTS-certified
  • Delicate openwork pattern
  • Square neckline
  • Subtle dainty trim along neckline and straps
  • Fitted silhouette
  • Soft and breathable
  • Available in raspberry and black
  • Great as a top and as an undershirt

What is openwork (ajour)?

Openwork is a knitting technique where small openings are created in the fabric. This gives the TRANQUILLO camisole a subtle pattern of small geometric shapes.

The result is a fabric that looks very refined and is slightly airier than a completely dense cotton knit. And that is precisely why this camisole looks too nice to be worn only under your clothes.

How does the TRANQUILLO AJOUR camisole fit?

The camisole has a fitted, feminine silhouette. It is designed to follow the lines of the body nicely, without being a tight, shapewear-style camisole.

In principle, just choose your usual size. Are you between two sizes or do you not like fitted tops? Then you can choose the larger size.

Can you also wear the AJOUR camisole as a top?

Absolutely. In fact, we think it’s a great way to wear it.

The raspberry color is fantastic with denim, dark blue, brown, gray, and black. The black camisole is, of course, a true all-rounder: wear it with wide-leg trousers, under a blazer, with a cardigan, or simply with jeans.

In the autumn and winter, the camisole works perfectly as an extra layer under a blouse, cardigan, or sweater. Are you looking for extra warmth? A wool camisole would be warmer, but for those who prefer wearing cotton directly against the skin, this is a wonderful base layer.

What is the TRANQUILLO AJOUR camisole made of?

The camisole is made of 100% organic cotton and is GOTS-certified. We think that is especially important for clothing worn directly against your skin.

Cotton breathes, feels natural, and is easy to wear year-round. The organic cotton is grown without the standard synthetic pesticides used in conventional cotton farming.

How do you wash an organic cotton camisole?

Wash the camisole preferably inside out at a maximum of 30 degrees with a mild detergent. Do not use fabric softener and skip the dryer.

Remove it from the machine immediately after washing and gently pull it back into shape. The latter is important for cotton knits: cotton can change shape slightly during wear and washing, and gentle reshaping helps maintain the original fit.

Then let it air dry.

Watch out for snags in openwork fabric

Because the openwork pattern intentionally features small openings in the knit, the fabric is slightly more sensitive to snags than a completely smooth jersey.

Therefore, be a bit careful with sharp jewelry, protruding zippers, and rough surfaces. Never pull on a loop if it catches. Often, you can gently pull a small snag to the back of the fabric using a fine needle or a snag repair tool.

After all, durable does not mean indestructible. A little bit of careful wear really makes a difference with such fine natural fabrics.

Which color should I choose: raspberry or black?

Raspberry if you're in the mood for color. It is a deep, rich pinkish-red hue that looks great under a dark cardigan, but can also be worn beautifully on its own.

Black if you are looking for a basic that truly goes with everything. Thanks to the openwork pattern and the dainty neckline trim, even the black version is anything but boring.

In other words: the same fine fit, two completely different characters.

Frequently asked questions about the TRANQUILLO AJOUR camisole

Is the TRANQUILLO AJOUR camisole an undershirt or a top?

Both. It is thin and soft enough to wear as an undershirt, but thanks to the openwork pattern and the beautiful neckline, it is also perfectly suitable to be worn visibly as a top.

Does the camisole run big or small?

The style is fitted and true to size. Choose your own size. If you are between two sizes or prefer a bit more room, take the larger one.

Is the openwork pattern see-through?

The pattern intentionally contains small openwork sections. Because of this, some skin may be subtly visible in places. That is exactly part of the ajour effect.

Is organic cotton warm enough for winter?

As an extra layer, certainly. Cotton is simply less insulating than wool. If you are specifically looking for warmth, wear a wool cardigan or sweater over it.

Can the camisole go in the dryer?

We advise against it. Air drying is gentler on the cotton fiber and helps the fit stay beautiful for longer.

In which colors is the TRANQUILLO AJOUR camisole available?

We have the camisole in raspberry and black.

One of those basics you only realize how much you wear when it happens to be in the wash. And yes… that is exactly why two colors isn't a crazy idea at all.

Biologisch katoen is bijzonder

And just like that, you were gone!
