REIFF wool fleece jacket for women – a warm, soft, and breathable natural wonder
Oh, you’ll want to put this on as soon as the weather turns cold! The REIFF wool fleece jacket is exactly what you’re looking for if you love warmth, softness, and natural materials. Made from 100% organic wool (KbT-certified) – in other words: wool from happy merino sheep that are allowed to graze outside, without nasty practices like mulesing.
What wool fleece actually is
Wool fleece is not a synthetic fleece, but a beautiful knitted wool fabric that is then brushed with thousands of tiny steel needles. This creates an airy, velvet-soft structure that retains heat while still being breathable. It feels as light as a cloud, keeps you comfortably warm, and prevents you from sweating. And also handy: a splash of rain or mist? No problem – wool is naturally water-repellent.
Why you’ll want it
The REIFF wool fleece jacket has a high collar (lovely in chilly winds), a sturdy zipper, and – yes – zippered pockets! Hooray for warm hands and keys that don’t disappear. It has a beautiful straight, supple fit and isn’t too thick, so you can easily wear it under a raincoat. Available in various natural colors – from soft green to deep purple – all of them equally timeless and practical.
Comfort & fit
The fit is true to size or slightly small; if you are between two sizes, feel free to choose the larger one. The jacket is supple and stretchy due to the knitted structure. And because wool adapts to your body temperature, it remains comfortable in changing weather. Ideal for walking, cycling, working, or just relaxing on the couch with a cup of tea. The sleeves are on the narrow side.
Vera’s washing advice
Wool has a self-cleaning talent – really! Hang your jacket outside for a night and it will be fresh again. If you want to wash it, do so cold, with a wool detergent containing lanolin, such as Lanalicious. Do not spin-dry, but let it dry flat. This way, it will remain your warm companion for years to come.
Sustainable & fair
REIFF is a German family business that has been making sustainable wool fashion for generations. Their wool fleece is completely organic, GOTS- and IVN-certified, without synthetic additives. Everything is knitted, dyed, and processed in their own workshop in Southern Germany – fair, local, and with respect for people, animals, and nature.

FAQ – frequently asked questions about the REIFF wool fleece jacket
Is wool fleece the same as polyester fleece?
No! Wool fleece is pure nature – made from organic merino wool, without plastic. It breathes better, doesn't smell, and feels much softer.
How warm is the jacket?
Wonderfully warm! The brushed wool traps air and insulates well without making you sweat. Perfect for autumn, winter, and crisp spring mornings.
Can I wash the jacket?
Only if absolutely necessary. Airing it out is usually enough. If you want to wash it, do so cold with Lanalicious and dry it flat. You can remove any pilling with a gleener.
Does the jacket run large or small?
It runs relatively small, but wool stretches slightly. If in doubt, take a size larger for extra room for layers underneath. I am wearing size L in the photo and normally wear a size 40 on top. I am wearing a thin wool sweater underneath in the photo. If I wanted to wear a thick sweater under it, I would definitely choose a size larger for myself.
Is it suitable as an outdoor jacket?
Yes! The wool fleece is breathable and slightly water-repellent. Perfect for walks, cycling, or as an intermediate jacket in the winter.
What does KbT-certified mean?
KbT is the strictest European quality label for organic wool. It guarantees that the wool comes from animals kept in a natural and animal-friendly manner, without cruel practices, chemicals, or environmental pollution.
Specifically, this means:
-
No mulesing — a painful procedure on merino sheep that is strictly prohibited under KbT standards.
-
Organic livestock farming — the sheep graze on unsprayed pastures, without chemical fertilizers or pesticides.
-
No antibiotics or growth hormones — only natural veterinary medicine is applied.
-
Clean processing of the wool — washing, spinning, and dyeing are done without toxic substances, chlorine, or heavy metals.
-
Respect for the ecosystem and people — farmers receive fair prices and work according to sustainable principles.
The result: pure, non-industrialized wool that breathes, regulates heat, and lasts for years — with respect for animals, people, and nature.
