Oh guys, this cardigan! JAMILLA is one of those cardigans that you put on and never want to take off again. Wonderfully soft, a little bit fluffy, comfortably roomy, and then there's that fantastic blue color. And that wide knitted collar makes it just a little different from a standard cardigan.
The JAMILLA from MADNESS is made of a beautiful blend of organic cotton and alpaca. The cotton gives the cardigan structure and makes it pleasant to wear, while the alpaca provides that soft, warm, and slightly fluffy feel. Not an incredibly heavy winter cardigan, then, but one of those cozy layers that you will get a lot of enjoyment out of.
What makes the JAMILLA cardigan so special?
For me, it's mainly that collar. The wide rib-knit collar runs all the way along the V-neck and the button placket, giving the cardigan something edgy yet very feminine at the same time. JAMILLA has three buttons on the front and a slightly shorter, roomy design that looks incredibly good with jeans or high-waisted trousers.
And BLUE... just look at that color. It's truly such an intensely bright blue that it instantly turns even a simple pair of jeans into an outfit.

How does the MADNESS JAMILLA cardigan fit?
JAMILLA fits generously. I am wearing a size 40 in the photos and you can see that the cardigan falls nice and loosely on my body. If you want to wear it the way I do, you can just choose your own size. If you prefer less volume, you could potentially try a size smaller.
How do you style the blue JAMILLA cardigan?
This is yet another wonderfully easy garment. I am wearing it here with a printed turtleneck from MADNESS and jeans. Because of the solid blue, the colors of the print underneath really pop.
But JAMILLA is just as nice with a simple T-shirt, blouse, or thin wool shirt underneath. And precisely because the V-neck is quite deep, you can play around with what you wear underneath. A print for more color, white for a fresh contrast, or tone-on-tone blue if you want to keep it subtle.
Is alpaca warm?
Yes, alpaca is wonderfully warm and insulating, yet lightweight at the same time. In combination with cotton, you get a cardigan that feels cozy without becoming overly heavy or bulky. That's exactly why we love these types of material blends so much.
How do you care for an alpaca and cotton cardigan?
Wash JAMILLA as little as possible. Simply airing it out outdoors is often sufficient. Does the cardigan still need to be washed? Use a cold wool wash cycle and a suitable wool detergent, such as our Lanalicious wool detergent with lanolin. Then let the cardigan dry flat and in shape.
And importantly: it is better to store a knitted cardigan flat. On a hanger, the knit can stretch out due to its own weight.
Can the JAMILLA cardigan pill?
Yes, with a soft and fluffy yarn containing alpaca, small bits of fluff or pills can form due to friction. This is normal for natural fibers and says nothing about the quality of the cardigan. With our Gleener fabric shaver, you can easily remove them and keep JAMILLA looking great.
Frequently asked questions about the MADNESS JAMILLA
What size are you wearing in the photos?
I am wearing a size 40. The cardigan itself fits reasonably generously and has a relaxed fit.
Is alpaca itchy?
Alpaca is actually known for its soft fiber and feels pleasant to many people. Sensitivity to natural fibers is, of course, personal, but because of the blend with organic cotton, JAMILLA feels wonderfully soft.
Can I also wear this cardigan as a jacket?
On a mild autumn or spring day, absolutely. JAMILLA is such an ideal intermediate layer: indoors as a cozy cardigan and outdoors when a real coat is just a bit too much.
Soft, fluffy, comfortably roomy, and bright blue. JAMILLA is just the kind of cardigan that makes even jeans and a simple shirt into something special.
